31. New England Patriots - Indiana RB Tevin Coleman[/B]

Lost a bit amid the hype of
Gurley, Melvin Gordon and other more hyped college backs, Coleman has
been a beast for the downtrodden Hoosiers, racking up huge numbers
against some of the better defenses he has faced, including Missouri,
Michigan State, Iowa and Ohio State. Only Penn State has held him in
check. Bill Belichick has received great utility from lower-round backs,
but with Stevan Ridley and Shane Vereen set to hit free agency, the
Patriots could thrive with a Coleman-LeGarrett Blount-James White-Jonas
Gray backfield in Tom Brady's golden years.

He would only get carries every third game.

Even if he ran for 200, they'd bench the next week for some RB off the street, so you wouldn't always have root against him.

I'd feel better about life, the Universe and everything Hoosier Nation had the prediction read something like Third Round to Oakland or Tampa Bay. Still, I have a hard time feeling bad about a young man choosing prosperity. Me, I can hate the Patriots and still root for Tevin Coleman!

Projected draft spot means nothing now. Wait until after

the Combines. Fortunes are won and lost based on a 40 time, # of weight reps, etc.

I have no idea how his his workout numbers stack up. But for a 1st round pick, he'd better be up in the top 3 in all categories. The number of yards he's gained in college just gets his foot in the door.

Re: Would be a good place for him

No he wouldn't, he plays a plethora of RBS to consistently show that he's a genius and RBS are a dime a dozen. The backs don't know from week to week who's gonna carry the ball. He's a defensive guru.
