Executive Summary: Kudos to Renn for making the play when it mattered most. For the second game in a week IU pisses a win away.

This was the smallest IU fan showing at this game that I have ever seen. Would surprised if there were 200 IU fans there although I assume some don't wear crimson in that place (like me).

Place is loud as hell with that round metal roof and the seething hate from these purple faced fans.

The good: The effort was there most of the night and the shots fell a bit more. Goode and MM were solid. Carlyle was out sick and Rice was rumoured to be sick as well...don't know. We really missed Cupps last night IMO not for his shooting or even defense but IU had a large advantage up front and Gabe makes good decisions and will get the ball to Ballo better than anyone else we have. Gallo had a good second half after struggling in H1. That haircut is awful btw. Good looking kid...why do that?

The Bad: Rice made a terrible choice with that shot with 3ish sec left down 1. Ballo was there and they had no answer...game would have been over. Was he fouled? Could not tell from the angle we had but it seems strange that a shot that is not tipped flops onto the floor five feet away. I will watch the replay in a bit. Not sure if you saw it on TV but Ballo who then forced to foul was enraged at Rice in the huddle...I do like the fire and Rice deserved it. Then the hail mary...wtf Mike? MR is not back in game shape, that was obvious.

Purdue: Admittedly this was the first full game i have seen them play but this was basically a two-man show with Brandon Smith and TKR making it happen. Moze has a deadly fall back jumper and his defense was good. he has quick hands and stole the ball at will. No one else impressed.

The refs: Neither team has much to complain about, there are always missed calls. IF Rice was fouled, and I don't know that yet...then that one mattered.

The fans there crack me up, they need to require season ticket holders to read a rule book and take a test. They booed everything and the BullShit chants were frequent. At least the IU sucks was in context as it is once a year. Midway through the first half Leal got Moze up in the air on a three pointer and drew the foul. Textbook. Perfectly executed. The place went apeshit and I was not impressed by the people behind us screaming "**** You Leal", or the ones screaming that Ballo is an "Ape that needs to be in the zoo". My clients who take me to these games were embarassed. But I hear dumb****s in TAH as well.

Anyway, if can live with the loss, I expected to get blown out. Hopefully Scott has told Quinn to stay out of this and is back channeling daily.

Iu sucks is in context? Paint crew only chants it vs iu. Purdue supporting cast didn’t play well last night. Didn’t think Smith played all that well either tbh. Cox and Harris will be good in time. They are freshman.

Place was also loud vs Michigan. It’s not just an iu thing. FYI.

Iu played the best game I’ve seen them play this year. They’d make the tournament if they played like that. Can they only get up for Purdue?

If they play like this the rest of the way the could get some wins, but I’m afraid the answer to your last question is yes.

20 turnovers were a killer. Lead to points the other way and gave Purdue the help they needed on a night they didn’t play very well.

Seems I remember watching the championship game last year and they chanted it at the Mackey watch party. It was exhibit A in the case of little brother syndrome. I guarantee if IU ever makes it to the title game again, PU wouldn't be on our fans' radar.

And yes, we have sucked for quite some time.
