With the recruiting dead period officially over - ending June 1 - it now starts an extremely busy next month for the Indiana staff.
That includes multiple official and unofficial visitors starting next week. Here is the full list:
June 9 - Class of 2023 point guard Jeremy Fears
June 10 - Class of 2022 power forward Kaleb Banks
June 15-16 - Class of 2022 power forward Kyle Filipowski (**Small note: Filipowski was just named Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year)
June 15-16 - Class of 2022 wing Justin Taylor
June 23 - Class of 2023 center Xavier Booker
June 28 - Class of 2022 combo guard Jalen Hood-Schifino
Mid-Late June - Class of 2022 wing and IU commit CJ Gunn (Tentative)
The newest name added to that list is Hood-Schifino who told Rivals earlier this week that he has locked in his official visit to Indiana beginning June 28. He also has visits scheduled to Georgetown (June 9), Tennessee (June 13) and Pittsburgh (June 16).
Hood-Schifino on Indiana: 'The history of Indiana is great... I am definitely excited to be going on that visit.'
**There will be some additional info on Hood-Schifino from Rivals national analyst Jamie Shaw later.

The first official visitor for Indiana was 2021 commit Tamar Bates. He visited earlier this week before he officially arrives on campus.
Of the visit, I was told: 'The visit went amazing'
Bates will arrive back on campus this weekend.
---
Summer workouts begin on June 10 for Indiana and this week and next is when all players will return to campus.
Of the new players, Pitt transfer Xavier Johnson has already arrived and 2021 four-star commit Logan Duncomb will be arriving today. As noted above, Bates will be back this weekend. Miller Kopp will arrive towards the end of next week as Northwestern is still 'in school' and finishing up the last bit of finals. Michael Durr will be arriving in the next few days as well.
---
Class of 2022 four-star center Shawn Phillips has had a busy week, already taking unofficial visits to Cincinnati and Illinois. He will also be visiting NC State later this month.
As of now, Mike Woodson has not been in contact with Phillips but members of the Indiana staff have been. Phillips has interest in Indiana and is appears that both sides are trying to work out a date for a visit of some capacity this summer.
Philips previously reported his top-7 and Indiana was on the list.
As for 2022 three-star wing Alex Karaban, he told me that the Indiana staff hasn't reached back out to him since his original chat with Mike Woodson right after he took the job.
For now, it appears Karaban will no longer be a key Indiana target. Mike Roberts was the key recruiter for Indiana and now that he is at Cincinnati, IU is looking elsewhere.

Earlier this week, the NCAA announced that on-court instruction can now involve staffers who are in non-coaching positions. With assistant coaches needing to be out on the road watching recruits in person for the first time in 15 months, it is imperative that the teams still have enough staff for team development during summer workouts.
This means guys like Thad Matta, Brian Walsh, Benny Sander and Mike Stump will all be available for potential on-court instruction.

Some additional notes:
There is talk and a few reports of Indiana taking an international trip later this summer.
This would be a terrific idea for a new team to get in extra reps before the season with the amount of new players and coaches associated with the program.
There should be more info coming out over the next few days, including the expectation that fans could attend.
