The earth would split open and Woody Hayes would march out leading an army of zombies to bring about the apocalypse. Would be fun to watch...vbg...Once successful programs fallen on hard times. Very similar.
Could you imagine tOSU fan in Nebraska fans' shoes?

Just curious...is that some sort of veiled potshot at IU fans? I mean, I cant think of a single IU FB fans that cares as purely and deeply as a UN fan about their program. Can you? Okay...I get it...Probably because they really care about football
and are not much into sunshine pumping.
I keep telling folks the changing demographics is what has done in Nebraska. Twenty short years ago they still had large farm families full of those big Swedish, German and Norwegian kids who stayed in state made excellent road graders for their O-line. They're all gone now and Nebraska just doesn't have that local size/talent pool to pull from, they have to recruit it.Back in the day, Nebraska was like a tank division. They rolled over nearly everybody and crushed them. Pure power.
Their fan base had high expectations based on an extended period of success. The world won't make sense, as we well know, until everything is back in its rightful place. Just as many kids today have no knowledge of where IU used to be in the basketball universe, many kids now just know Alabama and Clemson and several other SEC teams in the football world. The Nebraska-Oklahoma game used to be the main event every season. Didn't matter who your team team was. Everyone made a point to watch that game. It's hard to lose that.
Yes it’s a potshot at IU fans, nothing veiled about it.Just curious...is that some sort of veiled potshot at IU fans? I mean, I cant think of a single IU FB fans that cares as purely and deeply as a UN fan about their program. Can you? Okay...I get it...
Ugh...
I don’t think it’s demographics. Those big farm kids are still there and even with them UNL always recruited nationally (Jersey, Florida, Texas, Arizona, California). What’s changed is the offensive style of I back and Wishbone sets that overwhelmingly featured the triple option attack and little, if any passing. No more Jerry Tagge and Rick Berns and IM Hipp and Tommie Frazier and Mike Rozier, who rolled through the Big 8 until either they or OU played in the Orange Bowl. Kids don’t want to play that way anymore, and the culture of the program fell apart as a result. Frost is a two year Husker who overcame some early doubts once he transferred in and was and is beloved. If he can’t turn it around, I’m not sure it will happen.I keep telling folks the changing demographics is what has done in Nebraska. They fired Frank Solich, who won at the same clip (with one less game on the schedule). Solich was a great guy. Pelini was a jerk and never liked. They fired Pelini who was winning nine games a year and have never recovered.
COMPLETELY Wrong...Its called steroids. knu was infamous for it. Why do you think they had lines that outweighed opponents by 30 pounds per man. Here are a couple links. You don't recruit kids to a sh!thole that stinks like pig-sh!t in the middle of nowhere and become great without scandal. Your know it all posts are fruitless wastes of content. Kinda like that awesome msu run cover 2 safety support that did not even exist. It was LB and D-line making those stops. Enough already. How many handles have you had now? 40-50?I don’t think it’s demographics. I never suggested that UNL (I have no idea what “knu” refers to) didn’t juice in their S&C program, but the point still stands about their success deriving from both a national Recruiting strategy and running an offense that’s no longer in fashion. Do some research on it and you’ll have a better understanding.COMPLETELY Wrong...Its called steroids. knu was infamous for it. It's a nice enough town (Think I read it becomes the biggest city in 3 states on gameday?) The Haymarket looked like a fun area. And the fans are the best in the BT, IMO. We had folks literally coming up to us and shaking our hands, thanking us for being there, no kidding. My friend and I sat surrounded by Huskers, and they just wanted to talk about how far the drive was, what was the farthest we'd travelled to a game, why did we come, etc.. I think they must be lonely all the way out there on the great plains.Lincoln is a tough place to recruit into. Purdue is nicer and easier to get to. No reason to go to a terrible college town and campus if there is no current success.

You just summed up your wanna be football knowledge (pun intended) about football.I never suggested that UNL (I have no idea what “knu” refers to)
As for the Cover 2, it played out pretty much the way I said it would.t.
No kidding!!!Why can we never play these guys when they are bad!?
Oh yeah how did it play out?I never suggested that UNL (I have no idea what “knu” refers to) didn’t juice in their S&C program, but the point still stands about their success deriving from both a national Recruiting strategy and running an offense that’s no longer in fashion. As for the Cover 2, it played out pretty much the way I said it would, even if you didn’t understand. That’s not surprising, given your ME nonsensical post that was panned by everyone who had the pleasure of reading it.
Well the 2 inside linebackers had 15 tackles of the 29 run attempts. The defensive ends were next. Your safeties did have 5 tackles but Indiana completed 32 passes which would account for the amount of tackles they had. I know the left not sure if they are a left and right secondary or field and boundary or even a strong and weak secondary anyway had a tackle for loss on Ramsey as the brought him on corner blitz which means they only had one safety and the safety had to rotate to replace the corner. Also if you watch Debora’s press conference you will see him say played more man to man than expected. You need to do your homework Larry.Oh yeah how did it play out?
More mindless babble from you. Would’ve thought you’d stop after the ME and C2 posts. You just summed up your wanna be football knowledge (pun intended) about football.
As far as cover 2 you were so far off its lmao stupid.
Cant wait for the next 50 handles. Giddy i am.
Did my homework just fine and told you what they were likely to do, which they did. Did they play more man to stack the box? In some instances, yes. Not sure why you weren’t able to see that if you watched the game.Well the 2 inside linebackers had 15 tackles of the 29 run attempts. The defensive ends were next. So what you are saying did not use cover 2 to stop the run?Did my homework just fine and told you what they were likely to do, which they did. Did they play more man to stack the box? In some instances, yes. Not sure why you weren’t able to see that if you watched the game.
Also was watching on tv which tends to focus on the front not the secondary. But if they are a traditional cover 2 team which you claim is a run stopper why did have to play man. You made argument for me.So what you are saying did use cover 2 to stop the run.
Of course they did. But down and distance determines how any defense attacks the offense. MSU dropped a safety down from time to time to stop the run and then realized they likely wouldn’t have to as much, given IU’s inability to execute up front. They knew IU’s receivers couldn’t get deep (or even get off the line that well) and that the absence of a running game made play pass ineffective. IU couldn’t protect and Ramsey had no choice but to get the ball out as quickly as possible. Did you see the game?So what you are saying did not use cover 2 to stop the run?
You are right on...its a great environment...and the fans could teach us a thing or three about how its done. Really nice mid-western people...opposite of OSU. And others better study about Corporate farming taking over Nebraska and the surrounding states, driving out the family farmer...bigtime. DId you know that about 25% of Colorado is owned by Arab interests...the Japanese own the rest...vbg...It's a nice enough town (Think I read it becomes the biggest city in 3 states on gameday?) There was a game? I thought it was this week! Nobody ever tells me anything!!Of course they did. But down and distance determines how any defense attacks the offense. Why would you drop a safety down if cover 2 is a run stopper? Seems to go against your argument.Of course they did. But down and distance determines how any defense attacks the offense. If front seven is handling business like they did, why not stay in cover 2 which is designed to have 5 guys underneath in coverage to take away short passing game and rhythm throw game? Why would you drop a safety down if cover 2 is a run stopper? Seems to go against your argument.
Teams scout and game plan for certain things, but adjustments on both sides are constant. It became clear early that MSU was committed to stopping the run first, even at the expense of giving up some yardage through the air. When Tressel realized they could win the battle at the LOS with fewer bodies, they were able to take away any downfield threat, too. IU couldn’t adjust because they couldn’t run the ball, couldn’t protect, and couldn’t gondownfield with the ball, and MSU got control of the game.If front seven is handling business like they did, why not stay in cover 2 which is designed to have 5 guys underneath in coverage to take away short passing game and rhythm throw game?
The front 7 handles it after MSU loaded the box and then realized they could drop a safety out. It’s what happens in the ebb and flow of a game. Coaches adjust based on what the other side is doing. If front seven is handling business like they did, why not stay in cover 2 which is designed to have 5 guys underneath in coverage to take away short passing game and rhythm throw game?
So that is what happens in a game. But you still have not answered my question? Why did they play one high safety and deviate from their norm. You would only drop a safety if you were concerned about stopping the run game? The front 7 handles it after MSU loaded the box and then realized they could drop a safety out. He does that to himself all the time. There are already 3 or 4 of him floating around so you can count on the same ignoramus comments coming soon to a new handle. Seriously handicapped mentally. Its really sad.Why would you drop a safety down if cover 2 is a run stopper? Seems to go against your argument.
They we’re concerned about stopping the run game, which is why they dropped him in for run support. When they realized they could win at the point of attack without doing that, they adjusted. Pretty easy to see.So that is what happens in a game. But you still have not answered my question? Why did they play one high safety and deviate from their norm. Why don't you 2 exchange phone numbers and text each other? Or twitter handles and DM each other? Or follow each other on Instagram? Your incessant and childish back and forth really blows and keeps ruining thread after thread.
Palm - We ALL hate Larry and he's in his 500th iteration. Do us all a favor and put him on ignore. You're as bad as him when you won't stop engaging the troll. Give it a rest.[/
