No to Hoiberg! Should not be on the list. If you want NBA coaching experience I would ask Stevens, Donovan, Vogel, Wittman, Skiles, Quinn Buckner, but not Hoiberg.

I wouldn't count him out, but he would be among the unexpected choices we could make. I almost expect it will be one of the less obvious choices we hire. It would be interesting to know who called us with interest.

This is correct. Admittedly I'm an Iowa fan lurking out of curiosity about Alford, but Hoiberg initially gave 2nd chances to 5-6 players who had been kicked out of other programs. To their credit, I believe only 1 or 2 of them had further problems in Ames. But it definitely upgraded the talent in the program immediately, which in turn made it easier to recruit. But I'm not sure this approach would go over in Bloomington.
