after he retires, ridiculous, I hope he sucks, nobody watches football because of the announcers
Is football the only thing the guy knows? With millions of dollars of disposable income tucked away, one would think it might be fun to try something else in life. It can't be because he needs more money. Maybe he's intrigued with the opportunity to show off his pretty face in front of the camera, without a helmet to block his dimple. Perhaps he's one dimensional, a field rat so to speak, with no other choice but to stay with the game just to combat the boredom that comes with lacking imagination.after he retires, ridiculous, I hope he sucks, nobody watches football because of the announcers
37.5 million a year to work 20 weekends a year, will have plenty of time to do whatever he wantsIs football the only thing the guy knows? No, it's 37.5 million for 10 years. At 20 weekends a year, this is 200 weekends. That's 200 weekends of hassling plane flights, hotel rooms, tiresome banquet food, homework, wearing a coat and tie, being away from family. He probably already has 5 times this amount of money. All he's been doing since age 5 is football. It's time to move on in life, Tom, doing something more than making money at the expense of others. Maybe he thinks if he acquires "X" amount of dollars he'll one day find elusive happiness. Happiness is found in the simpleness of life. He's been too focused to see it.37.5 million a year to work 20 weekends a year, will have plenty of time to do whatever he wants
It’s $37.5M per year for ten years! Nearly $2M per weekend. He’ll be only 56 when he’s done broadcasting contract. Still young enough to do whatever he wants. Plus he’ll have 30 free weeks every year. No, it's 37.5 million for 10 years. At 20 weekends a year, this is 200 weekends. So dumb. Probably will make more than the players on the field busting their asses.after he retires, ridiculous, I hope he sucks, nobody watches football because of the announcers
A silly little decimal point makes me look like an idiot. I always hated math. Numbers make me nervous to this day. At what point (decimal or otherwise) does money get obscene such that it is essentially meaningless? I can't understand why they would pay someone that much for doing something of such little importance in the grand scheme of things. As bad of shape as today's society seems to be in, one would think the money could be spent more wisely. With some of these insane salaries, there must be a lot of kids growing up on Easy St. Inheritance seems to be the way to go for those seeking the path of least resistance, the expenditure of minimal energy. I admit I'm a bit jealous of his good fortune but it's probably just human nature to feel this way so I won't dwell on it. Now watch, Brady will probably live to be 93 years in good health. Rod Stewart got it right in singing some guys have all the luck, some guys do nothing but complain. It’s $37.5M per year for ten years! Nearly $2M per weekend. I imagine he is quite happy!
Can college basketball be far behind in sequence of this downward spiral? Maybe it's time to revisit gladiators and lions.Pro sports is so overrated, and athletes so overpaid. Never watch MLB or the NBA, and NFL is getting to be boring.
Should Musk or any other billionaires just quit working? Who knows ,what I question is will he bring that much value? Fox is taking a helluva risk, just because Hes a great player doesn't always translate to being a great broadcaster. Ill be rooting against himA silly little decimal point makes me look like an idiot. I always hated math. Numbers make me nervous to this day. I can understand you rooting against him. He represents success and you don't.Should Musk or any other billionaires just quit working? Who knows ,what I question is will he bring that much value? correct, he has a model wife, 6 super bowls, a billion dollars and I argue with a he/she named lucy on a message boardI can understand you rooting against him. He represents success and you don't.
I think he will be great as an announcer. He clearly understands the game better than almost anybody else.Should Musk or any other billionaires just quit working? knowledge sure being interesting on tv who knows, fox taking a riskI think he will be great as an announcer. He clearly understands the game better than almost anybody else.
I've never watched or not watched a game because of who was announcing it, seems absurd to me, and i had to listen to Dackich many timesI don't see the money in it. How many more people are going to watch the game if their team is playing vs a generally competent college announcer? Beth Mowins not included.
I’ve watched plenty of pac 12 games strictly because of Walton.I've never watched or not watched a game because of who was announcing it, seems absurd to me, and i had to listen to Dackich many times
Torture.I’ve watched plenty of pac 12 games strictly because of Walton.
I bet cha do.I will never listen to this cheaters broadcasting! Mute button is better!
I get to watch basketball, the history channel, discovery, with a hint of sci-fi. Where can you get that bang for your buck!!Torture.
Mike Tyson understands the game of boxing better than almost anybody else, yet you don't see him at ringside with a microphone and headset.I think he will be great as an announcer. He clearly understands the game better than almost anybody else.
Bill Walton is a national treasure. His Maui Classic calls belong in the Smithsonian as an example of everything good, no, GREAT about the USofA.I get to watch basketball, the history channel, discovery, with a hint of sci-fi. Where can you get that bang for your buck!!
Doesn't he have 7 SB Rings?correct, he has a model wife, 6 super bowls, a billion dollars and I argue with a he/she named lucy on a message board
He has 7 super bowl wins... he has a model wife, 6 super bowls...
I don't count the one with flat footballsHe has 7 super bowl wins
Strange move considering his expressed desire to be around the kids more.
And from the Fox perspective, he could be really good, like Tony Romo, or just completely God-awful like Dan Fouts, you never know. I'd assume that they ran him through some simulated game calls, but it is still a gamble.
there's still 7I don't count the one with flat footballs
Agree, fun to listen to.I’ve watched plenty of pac 12 games strictly because of Walton.

Really, I appreciate Fouts, don't care much for TR.He has 7 super bowl wins

Same here, but I've watched plenty of games in spite of who they were.I have never watched a game because of who the color or play by play commentators were.
