Former IU target Trent Maynard, 300 pound offensive lineman from Decatur Central, who IU had reportedly offered early in the season but not seemed to be a lot of interest for a couple of months, has announced he will make his choice known on Monday.
He has made visits to IU, Purdue, Vandy, Kentucky, Iowa, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Illinois and a couple of MAC schools over the last two years. Never heard of him visiting Minnesota but had heard him have them as a leader earlier this year.
I have not seen him talk of a visit to a Big 10 school lately. He has been to two Miami of Ohio games recently so my bet is that is the leader. There was a time he was considered a pretty strong recruit but he missed part of his junior year due to an injury, I think that may have dropped him, obviously something did.
He was at the IU Michigan basketball game his sophomore year with a number of prospects and I saw photos of him from that visit in an IU jersey and holding the Old Oaken Bucket.
