It's RHP Gavin Seebold on the mound for IU with Stadler behind the plate. In a shakeup of the batting order, Brenzewski as the DH is in the leadoff position with Taylor, Dickerson and Oliver behind him. The rest of the batting after that is Stadler, and Cerny, with Haney, Denny and Moore at the bottom of the order.

Moore will start at 3B in place of Pyne. It's Taylor in LF with Dickerson in CF, and Denny in RF. Fordham will counter with RHP Robbie Stewart on the mound. Fordham is the home team.

As I post this, it's expected to be 46 degrees with sun/showers at game time and the chance of precip is 40%. They are calling it mostly cloudy with the chance of showers.

T1st:

Brenczewski walked on a 3-2 count to lead things off. Taylor walked on a 3-2 count to put runners on 1st and 2nd.

A WP moved the runners to 2nd and 3rd with no outs.

Dickerson singled to RF to bring in Brenczewski to give IU an early 1-0 lead. Runners are on the corners.

Oliver grounded out with Taylor scoring on a FC to make it 2-0. Dickerson is on 2nd with one out.

Stadler grounded out with Dickerson taking 3rd and two outs. Cerny walked on a full count to put runners on the corners and two outs. That brings up the bottom of the order with Hanley up in an all-freshman bottom of the order.

Cerny stole 2nd while Hanley walked to load the bases with a struggling Denny batting-wise up and two outs.

Denny Kd looking to retire the side with the bases loaded.

B1st:

The leadoff hitter walked on a 3-1 count, and then a single put runners on 1st and 2nd and no outs.
A fielder's choice put runners on the corners with one out.

It took just one inning for the error problem to raise its ugly head. An error on Oliver allowed two unearned runs to score to tie the game. The 2nd run scored was on a SAC fly. Two groundouts ended the inning.

End of 1st: IU 2 Fordham 2

B2nd:

Seebold will face the bottom of the order. Seebold retired the side in order which included a K.

End of 2nd: IU 2 Fordham 2

T3rd:

It was the 3 thru 5 hitters up and Dickerson walked to leadoff. Oliver Kd looking for the first out. Stadler moved Dickerson to 2nd on a SAC bunt with two outs. Cerny walked on a 3-1 count to put runners at 1st and 2nd and two outs.

Hanley was hit by a pitch on a 3-2 count to load the bases with two outs.

Fordham went to the bullpen and brought in RHP Jordan Rodarte who has pitched just one inning on the season and recorded a walk.

Wiggins is pinch hitting for Denny. An error in CF where the ball was dropped, cleared the bases to make it 5-2 with all runs unearned. Wiggins took 3rd, but Moore grounded out to retire the side.

Errors have impacted the scoring for both sides so far.

B3rd:

It's the top of the order up and Wiggins has taken Denny's position in RF. Seebold got out of the inning unscathed with a groundout, single, flyout, and a K.

End of 3rd: IU 5 Fordham 2

Kinda love the video without some idiot announcer ruining the game. It was def an error on Tyler. He’s really struggling in the field. I’ve known him since he was a real little fella. Nobody works harder or cares more. He’ll get it figured out. But for now, I kinda hold my breath when a ball comes his way.

I hate, hate, hate seeing Josh not at 3rd. Unless he’s hurt, that kid should not be moved off 3rd. However, I called it after the first weekend. This team needs a leader and stability in the infield. Sorry, but that’s not coming from our SS.

T4th:

It's the top of the order up and Brenczewski popped up for the first out. They are not going to let Taylor hurt them as they walked him for the 3rd straight time in the game to put a runner on with one out.

Dickerson grounded out with Taylor moving to 2nd and two outs. Oliver grounded out to retire the side. Clutch hitting has just plain not been there so far this season.

B4th:

Seebold faced the 5 thru 7 hitter and he put them down in order.

End of 4th: IU 5 Fordham 2

Stadler tripled to lead off. Cerny doubled to score Stadler. Hanley walked, and Wiggins singled to score Cerny to make it 7-0.

Moore scored Hanley on a SAC bunt. Brenczewski singled to put runners on the corners with one out and Fordham went to the bullpen and brought in RHP Diego Reilly-Bell.

Taylor grounded out scoring Wiggins and Dickerson retired the side with a groundout.

B5th:

An excellent inning for Seebold as he ended the inning with 3 Ks with a walk mixed in.

End of 5th: IU 9 Fordham 2

T6th:

Oliver grounded out, Stadler singled, Cerney was hit by a pitch to put runners on 1st and 2nd and one out. Hanley Kd for the 2nd out. Wiggins walked and Moore reached on a FC to retire the side with the bases loaded.

B6th:

Seebold had another excellent inning as he put them down in order on two groundouts and a K.

End of 6th: IU 9 Fordham 2

T7th:

Brenczewski was hit by a pitch. Taylor Kd for the first out, then Dickerson clubbed a two-run homer to make it 11-2.

Oliver walked, Stadler Kd for the second out, Cerney singled, Hanley singled and Wiggins Kd with the bases loaded to retire he side.

B7th:

LHP Ryan Rushing came out of the bullpen for Seebold. Shoddy fielding gave Seebold some problems in the 1st, but he was nothing but money through the last five innings and threw just 75 pitches of shutout ball over those six innings minus the 1st inning..

Rushing had an outstanding inning by putting them down in order on two Ks and a groundout.

End of 7th: IU 11 Fordham 2

T8th:

Moore was hit by a pitch. Brenczewski singled, and Taylor walked for the 4th time in the game to load the bases with no outs.

Decker pinch ran for Taylor. Dickerson walked to score Moore.

Oliver singled to score Brenczewski and Decker to make it 14-2. With runners on 1st and 2nd and no outs, Fordham goes to the bullpen again.

Malamazian singled to load the bases again with no outs. Hanley Kd for the 2nd out. Wiggins walked on a full count to score another run with two outs. Moore flied out to retire the side.

B8th:

Freshman RHP Trey Tefler replaced Rushing after Rushing had an outstanding inning. It's Tefler first appearance of the season and he faced the 9 thru 2 hitters. He put a runner on with a single who reached 2nd on a WP. He then got two flyouts with the runner holding at 2nd. A K ended the inning.

End of 8th: IU 15 Fordham 2

Brenczewski was hit by a pitch to reach and it was the second time he was hit by a pitch in the game. Decker reached on a FC with Brenczewski out at 2nd. Dickerson Kd for the 2nd out. Oliver Kd to retire the side.

B9th:

RHP Caleb Koskie came in for Tefler and he got the leadoff hitter on a groundout before giving up two straight singles to put runners on 1st and 2nd and one out. He got a K for the 2nd out and Mercer decided to give some work to LHP Brayton Thomas in getting the final out. A K ended the game.

Final: IU 15 Fordham 2

Hope the boys can build on this win and go on a big winning streak! Next time Gavin Seebold is pitching, let's just skip the 1st and go straight to the 2nd inning and start there! VBG!
Nice performance from him!
Go Hoosiers!!

IU got off to an ominous start with a sloppy error in the first that gave Fordham two easy runs, but an outstanding pitching game by Seebold made it all mute. Fortunately, it was a clean game after that.

Seebold went six innings while giving up one earned run in the first which would have not happened if not for the error. He threw just 75 pitches over the six innings giving up just two hits, both singles and he had 7 Ks.

IU used four other pitchers and all were pretty effective. Koskie had a little bit of a jam in the 9th when he gave up two straight singles after getting the leadoff hitter, but Thomas came in and got the final out on a K.

After complaining about IU not getting clutch hits so far this season, they turned around and started getting them to kick off the rout. IU outhit Fordham, 12-5, and both teams had one error.

I wish I would have been at the game. Then I could have reported how rude the Fordham fans are. I would have asked then what is Fordham University's abbreviation, but they would have tossed an insult back at me!
