Somethings I am looking for:
1. Is the offensive line better this year with more experience coming back?
2. Is Peyton Ramsey able to complete balls down the field?
3. Can running back by committee work for our offense?
4. Can our wide receiver corps create explosive plays?
5. Who will step up on defense?
6. Can we get more takeaways?
7. Can we continue to move up Defensive rankings?
8. Can we finally get a breakthrough win or two and go bowling again?
Any thoughts? Go Hoosiers!!!

1. Absolutely (and they need to take good care of Ramsey).
2. Yes (see #1 above).
3. Time will tell. I already miss Ellison.
4. Yes.
5. Ball, Sykes, Fitzgerald, Crawford
6. We'd better. We were miserable in this department last year.
7. I just don't want to move down in any key areas.
8. Not sure about the "breakthrough" win, but we will win six and go bowling.

2, 3, 4, and 8 have A LOT to do with #1.

A very good list of important areas that will dictate how our year will turn out. For me, it boils down to the following: I am concerned with whether we have significant improvement in OL and QB arm strength/deep accuracy as well as DT run stopping ability and LB play (which is close to impossible to predict right now, due to limited past game experience). To me, those are the critical areas.

Great list. We need to breakthrough with a W against the big 4 in the east for a successful season. It can be done... Should have happened twice last year.

1. Is the offensive line better this year with more experience coming back? Yes, should be a strength
2. Is Peyton Ramsey able to complete balls down the field? I hope so, but he's still not going to be Nate.
3. Can running back by committee work for our offense? Do we have a choice?
4. Can our wide receiver corps create explosive plays? I think so. Westbrook and Hale have the ability. I think Whop does too.
5. Who will step up on defense? I think Ball will shine this year as long as he stays healthy.
6. Can we get more takeaways? Although possible, its not probable we could get less.
7. Can we continue to move up Defensive rankings? I'd like to think we can, but as long as we don't regress I'll be happy.
8. Can we finally get a breakthrough win or two and go bowling again? Here's hoping. My call is we're 5-0 heading to Columbus.

I remember Ball as a freshman. I saw SO much Bob Sanders in him. That was when he didn't even have the system fully down to know when he should and shouldn't be aggressive. If he has progressed in the way he should, I think you see a more aggressive defense. That Husky position is so vital with CTA's system. I wondered what could've been had he not been injured last year. That was a defense primed for big things.

1. Yes
2. No.
3. Depends on your definition of "works".
4. Yes.
5. Roof & Allen
6. No.
7. No
8. 'No' to breakthrough wins, 'possibly' to bowl game.

Misc......I actually don't see many unknowns at this point. I do think people are sleeping on Harris. If he can come back strong that would be a big boost. The second big unknown is whether Ellison can come back this season.

I am most interested in seeing how Penix & Taylor are used.

Per “second unknown” I’m afraid “indefinitely” usually means never, so I’d focus on the 4-5 RBs remaining, some of whom I think will be a pleasant surprise.

JShun is going to be returning punts again where he was dangerous (and maybe with Inge they will have better schemes too) but he has gotten reps at WR and when he catches ball with some daylight he’s a potential goner.

Taylor lit things up as a QB. Maybe this is the sign to overlook the 5’10 frame and let his dynamic abilities kick in a la ARE 2.0. In college, still think that’s possible with a super athlete lime him. Hope he does get his packages.

You're probably right on Ellison. I'm just hoping the situation wasn't as bad as some on here have implied.

The running back by committee approach has resulted in decent results in the past. We can survive a little less production if the RBs they use hang on to the ball.

Good adders...very interested in what I term "defensive continuity"...are we going to continue to improve on the defensive side of the ball...
