There was an item in the D1Baseball chat on 5/6 that I posted and it briefly addressed the ERAs rising in college baseball overall. I was wondering where the B1G stood in that area from 2023 to 2024 and I found that while there was a somewhat rise in the conference's overall ERA it wasn't that significant. The overall conference ERA in 2023 was an average of 5.67, while in 2024 with three games to go for each team, it is 5.90. There might be some jockeying around by teams in the overall ERA standings after the next three games, but I doubt it will move the needle much on the conference's overall ERA for this season. Here's how things went in that area for each team.

Iowa:

2023 (1st) - ERA of 4.19
2024 (8th) - ERA of 6.09

Rutgers:

2023 (2nd) - ERA of 4.55
2024 (5th) - ERA of 5.65

Nebraska:

2023 (3rd) - ERA of 4.64
2024 (1st) - ERA of 4.38

Indiana:

2023 (4th) - ERA of 5.27
2024 (10th) - ERA of 6.28

MSU:

2023 (5th) - ERA of 5.41
2024 11th) - ERA of 6.47

OSU:

2023 (6th) - ERA of 5.63
2024 (9th) - ERA of 6.15

Purdue:

2023 (7th) - ERA of 5.75
2024 (2nd) - ERA of 4.77

Michigan:

2023 (8th) - ERA of 5.85
2024 (6th) - ERA of 6.02
