Watching BYU vs ND and a bunch of lightly recruited 2 and 3 star OL are holding their own against the ND front. IU has competed with power 5 program for high 3 star OL recruits and can’t even impose their will against Idaho.

The reason I bring up the strength program is our DL doesn’t get much push either and half our team is hurt with mostly non contact surprise injuries.

IU HAS recruited well enough to compete, it shouldn’t feel like the same old IU. They need to outgrow that mindset.

Alabama thought our strength and conditioning coach was good enough.

His replacement was highly regarded.

Don’t believe S&C is our biggest problem.

OL doesn’t seem to attack … come off the ball … maybe zone blocking needs to go

What makes little sense to me is that the D-Line was really good against the run. Bordering on great.

Take away Corum's 50-yard run, which was not on the line, just poor angles from the second level and an incredible back making incredible moves, and he averaged barely three YPC as the nation's leading rusher and a Heisman contender, and even that would've been worse still without the drive at the end of the game where our D had basically been on the field for an entire quarter and he got a few decent runs as they fatigued.

We frankly dominated the line of scrimmage against the run for most of the game. But they could get literally nothing in the pass rush. Like, I don't even know if McCarthy was even touched once, and I'm pretty sure the answer is no. It doesn't make sense. Michigan didn't line up and dominate us at the line of scrimmage in general like they often do, but the line could just not get anywhere near it on passing downs despite not remotely being outmanned on runs.
