UPDATE:
Like I said, it's not done until it's done. Michigan was known to really want Dusty May, but the Wolverines have not previously been all-in-one financially on hoops. It's safe to say they are now. This basically turned into a bidding war much to Dusty May's benefit. It will be interesting to see what the numbers are.
Indiana fans who wanted Dusty May will get to see him in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall at least once a year. Louisville goes to plan B, whatever that is.
I would look for May to be locked up for the next 6-7 years, and the first 4 years to be expensive for any new suitors. There's no doubt that a sizable part of the Indiana fanbase will be pissed and vocal about it. I am not saying they are right or wrong, but I will say that if this indeed happens, it would be very "on Brand" for Indiana. A day late and a dollar short, and a step behind.
Look at football. Indiana had the makings of a top level staff a few years ago with one giant exception. Alabama's current head coach Kalen DeBoer, DC Kane Wommack, OC Nick Sheridan, Strength coach David Ballou, and LSU's DL coach Kevin Peoples were all on the same Indiana staff together. But Indiana had Tom Allen at the top. Indiana just being Indiana.
