Things are tightening up at the top. The top 4 teams are Purdue, Wisconsin, Illinois and Ohio State. IU has played them all tough except Illinois. It is a tough League where we are beating each other up. IU should be a NCAA tournament team but like in football we may just be kicking against the pricks. Wish we had the canceled game back against UNC-Asheville. That game might have given us a better chance at 20 wins. Of course if we would have held on to win a game or two we choked off would have been better. And, if the dog hadn't stopped to take a dump, he would have caught the rabbit too! LOL

Woodson really ripped into Bates when he made that bonehead bad pass that went out of bounds, near the end of the game. I don't know if they showed it on TV, but Woodson immediately took him out and chewed his ass. Bates has yet to look comfortable in an IU uniform, for whatever reason.

my high school coach would have banished me to the end of the bench for rest of the game if I (or any of my teammates) pulled that crap. Especially in a tight game that is an absolute must-win for our team. And would make my teammates run suicides for 5-10 min on Saturday morning, while I had to stand there and watch their glares.

You'd think a player of his experience would have learned by now. Kopp just can't seem to find his groove. From an earlier Inside the Hall article...

Kopp transferred from Northwestern in April and had quite the stroke of luck playing on Branch McCracken Court. Last December, he led the Wildcats in a 74-67 win over the Hoosiers, shooting 5-of-6 from the field and scoring 13 points.

That said, I still like the guy and am grateful he chose to transfer to IU. He seems like a good kid. Maybe we will see a monster game from him, yet. March 5 would be nice.

I know you all really hate Purdue (Personally, I dislike them, but I respect the program that Matt has built) but the Illinois fan base is 1000x worse than Purdue.

There are dolts on the Illinois board honestly wanting to leave the BigTen and join the Big12 because of the officiating. “We should leave and take the Chicago market with us… the conference wouldn’t survive”.

They are the most delusional and desperate for relevancy fanbase that there is. They’ve never won shit and act like they’re blue blood. At least most Purdue fans manage their expectations… most I know are expecting a loss before the Final Four.

They are 1,000x worse because the base is 1,000x larger. Comes with the territory of a more national program. Lord knows we have the same issues.

Totally agree on the delusional part. “Take the Chicago Market with them!!” Love it!! Unless they are good, no one in Chicago gives 2 shits about the Illini. Total pro town, except when the BTT comes to the UC every few years.

Having lived in the city for 12 years and worked there for 25, Plenty of Big 10 alums throughout the city and suburbs to sustain plenty of the Chicago market.
