Dems...enjoy your VP candidate

The link did state Harris made a strong case when the subject was attacking Trump.

This is one of the things which may have attracted her to Biden.

Is this the thread where I come to find all the hate and vitriol from the left? Or is this the one where the henpecked conservative posters talk important issues and post about the dynamic agenda their candidate for the White House is offering?
I don't know, man. They all swear it exists, but I'm having a hard time finding that unicorn.

Dude, I think I unlocked the secret code. Me being super stoked about the Biden-Harris ticket is actually evidence of the left spewing all kinds of hatred and vitriol because she's black and he doesn't wear a helmet when he bikes and...

Well, I haven't figured out the rest yet, but still...

Just a reminder how well KH did in the primaries and what her colleagues think of her.

She really presents a conundrum for Team Trump, and you can see that in the confusion/mixed messages they've been sending while trying to mount an attack strategy. One Trump ally claims she's a "socialist", and an hour later another one comment's on how she is seen in progressive quarters as being too hard-line when she was a Prosecutor.

The problem is that both those lines of attack serve to widen her base of support. Calling her "socialist" makes her more palatable to progressives that Biden needs to attract while referring to her as "tough on crime" undermines Trump's own phony "law and order President" mantra. As usual with Trump, it's red meat for the base but it does nothing to widen his base or blunt the anti-Trump vote.

"If the last 24 hours is any indication, the strategy of President Trump’s reelection campaign and his supporters will be to paint Sen. Kamala Harris, former Vice President Joe Biden’s running mate, as a tool of the radical left, and also too cozy with Wall Street. Too tough on criminal suspects and also anti-police. In the pocket of Silicon Valley. Mean to Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Friendly with Jeffrey Epstein’s law firm. Pro-Medicare for All. For open borders and sanctuary cities. For legalization. Against fracking. A socialist. A capitalist. A weak politician. And a “phony.”

In other words, everything that Republicans have ever said about Democrats and some things that they haven’t ever tried."

There were a large number of persuadables and undecideds that broke late for Trump in 2016. This year those numbers are far fewer, heavily seem to prefer Biden, and the anti-Trump sentiment that led to record numbers of Dem voters in 2018 is even more entrenched today. Trump has done NOTHING to blunt that.

Here's an interesting analysis from the Houston Chronicle which discusses why Texas Dems are thrilled with Harris, and why they feel that she is the best VP Choice that Biden could have made regarding his chances to flip Texas...

KH was my fifth choice for the nomination and a very good selection as the attack dog for the campaign, although that role really isn't necessary this rodeo.

There is an unusually high likelihood that KH will be the next POTUS and certainly the face of the Dems for the near future.

The face of the Democratic party that was universally rejected by the Democratic voters. How very Democratic.

Ehhh politics 101.

The dems biggest problem is not KH or JB. Their issue is as always, the circular firing squad they invariably live with. If they could learn how to properly market themselves and their ideas, they would dominate for the next decade or more. Trump and the Pubs have handed it to them on a silver platter.

But as long as they use terms like "Defund police" to describe what should be a logical and universally acceptable restructuring...they will continue to under perform.

So far she’s a radical leftist authoritarian prosecutor who’s weak on crime but tough on black people and too progressive.

This might be one of the funniest things ever on this board and believe me there have been some pretty outlandish things. @Lucy and the Willie Brown one is pretty good as well.

I had an arugument yesterday with a fellow co-worker that she really wasn't African American, I showed her the press release when she was voted into Senate compared to the one yesterday all she has was crickets.

In reality isn't part of that on KH for jumping all over the place when taking a stance on an issue? One of the reasons, I believe, her candidacy stalled quickly was because she was all over the map. I am sure she will change that now, but a lot of this she brought on herself.

So, it's Kamala's fault that the Trump campaign can't coherently attack her? She brought incoherent attacks on herself? That's kind of a silly rationale. It's right up there with "It's Democrats fault that Trump was elected because they didn't nominate someone other than Hillary." I remember when my Republican colleagues used to believe in personal responsibility.

I think the point is that Harris is a more traditional politician who isn't a hard core doctrinaire ideologue, and that leads to accusations of being fickle or unprincipled or whatever. It's why compromise has become such a rarity. Me, I'd love to see a lot more fickle or unprincipled politcos if that means we can get things accomplished and move the country forward.
