I carried my golf bag until a week or two before my 60th birthday. What made me stop carrying it was a near wreck with a bicyclist who ran a traffic light while going the wrong direction on a one-way street. My back has never been the same after having to slam on my brakes to avoid running into the bicyclist. I still carry it to and from my vehicle at home, but not on the golf course.
