2020 #95 6'6" Lawrence Central's DeAndre Davis has reopened recruitment. Is IU interested?

He'd be behind both Hunter and Anderson for 3 years wouldn't he? I think I saw someone say something that proximity to home would factor into his decision now but I don't see him going to either big ten team in Indiana.

I'm sure the staff will take note of this, but they won't back off their priority targets. It i worth a phone call to see where he is at in his search. I don't think you ignore anyone in the state in the top 100. I don't think you change course unless the recruit is far above who you are already recruiting. It sounds like a good opportunity for Painter to pick up a good recruit. His best players have fallen into his lap like this.

I believe he committed to Nebraska in October, 2018. I imagine that his move up the rankings also contributed towards his decision.

Did he commit before or after the coaching change? Would guess that to be the reason.

Why would anyone from Indiana want to play basketball at Nebraska? If it was football, then I would understand. But going from Indiana where basketball is king to Nebraska would be culture shock. I'd be flattered by a B1G offer, but no thanks. Davis can now likely leverage their B1G offer into something better. Hoiberg will need more than his name to recruit there.
