This only confirms my thought that he will redshirt this year. The non-athlete recovers enough to regain their activities in 6-9 months. Athletes take a year and sometimes up to 2 years to regain their prior level of comfort running. The main issue being that the injured leg doesn't feel like the uninjured leg while running.

If he isn't going to be allowed to fully resume basketball activities until November, it will be several weeks before he is in the proper shape to play limited minutes. This is assuming as Archie is quoted in the article that he doesn't gain too much weight from inactivity.

As soon as he is able to practice, the staff will monitor how much he can play and at what level. He will have to be more productive than those that have been playing. There isn't any reason to bring him back until he is 100%. I will be happy if he is playing in January, but I am not counting on it.
