Not sure I could take watching this clown’s antics for a whole season either. Are these million dollar jobs that easy to get these days? Damn. Seems like some real knobs making a fortune leading crap teams.

His antics help distract fans’ attention from the crappy play on the floor. They took a ton of bad shots and made lots of stupid turnovers. This was a battle to see which team could suck less.

I agree with you guys. I think UCONN could be a really good team if they had a decent coach. I also don't really like him or his brother. Something about those goofy facial expressions. I remember they were from some Eastern schools that we don't speak of any more.

Years ago we had this kind of game at home against Eastern Washington. Nobody seemed to want to win the game and kept giving the other team the opportunity to take it. Finally Eastern stood up and said, "well, thank you we will take it now" and won. I was at that game and left very disgusted in the way IU played. If they had won I would not have felt great, but at least we would have gotten the W.

The score of that game was something in the 90’s...nothing at all like this...
It was entertaining as hell for the kids...

If I'm not mistaken, I think their coaching families are chummy with both Archie's and Calipari, so there's that

Archie is a respectable guy. We will see if he can coach, but he represents the university and the program very well. With a little bit of success, I predict we will see more alumni coming back just to hang around the staff and players.

Bobby Hurley was a real thorn in our side when he teamed up with Christian Laettner to beat us in the regional final game in Minneapolis. That was the infamous Duke game we would have won if Ted Valentine hadn't turned on us. He hated Knight.

I was initially sold on Archie, mostly because I so detested Crean, but when the money is there, the resources are there, and the recruits and results don't come in 3 years … what are we paying for. It feels like our version of Billy Gillespie, not on a morals comparison, but just a hey "we a mistake" level

TV Ted is still at it from what I heard

Many here will never admit what you just did...
The crazy thing is I'm becoming less convinced of how proven, demonstrable success at lesser coaching jobs translates to success here. If Arch goes, should we hire Alford, Ben Howland … those would be safe, but I'm really not sure a Damon Bailey, Fife, or Coverdale wouldn't be more successful, just based on personality and recruiting ability. Heck, even Mike Davis might be ready to finally pull it off here. It's become beyond X & O's if you want the recruits, and that, in hindisight, had start to become apparent at the end of RMK tenure.

Are you willing to give him the entire third season, or have you seen enough?

Add to that, and I can't believe I'm even thinking it 15 years later, but I honestly feel like the program would be in better shape had Davis not been fired and allowed to grow into the job. Believe me, I was probably doing backflips when he was fired much like Crean, but he was different and could have grown into the job. Hindsight 20/20, and I had a smart relative see that vision all the way back then, but I wouldn't hear it at the time

Neither would work for Glass. I suspect Glass is the type of manager that requires weekly productivity reports and mandatory diversity and inclusion meetings.
Yeah, its called ******ronics, why mince words. I'm not a homophobe and my brother in law who is gay, and married me and my wife, says it too when warranted, it is regarding Glass.

Wish Sampson did not know how to use a cell phone.

He resigned, even if it was mutual. That's why we knew before the season was over, but he finished the season.

We, literally, just got our starting backcourt back (not even fully back yet as they aren't starting) , it's December, we've been using 3 new to the team players (2 freshmen) as starters, and we are 9-1 with one bad loss (at a place we haven't won at since '98) and 2 quad 1 wins (one top 20). If you are as negative on Archie as you guys are, it's because your mind is already made up. Personally, I love the team play focused on D with heart and hustle (outside of one game). Do they have a long way to go? Of ****ing course! Its DECEMBER! Can we at least hold off on this crap until later in the year (if, and it's a big if, this team doesn't improve)? Can you think of reasons the offense ran better with RP out there, against a very good defensive team with length, than without him? Seriously, if you guys are this impatient go root for that team that fired Gillespie. You fit right in..... I want a PROGRAM not a one and done factory. Archie is building that.

You can question the results for sure, but I don't see how you question the recruiting. He got Romeo, which I didn't think was possible and TJD plus several other in state kids. Sure we lost Brooks and Garcia, but I mean, what are people's expectations, that we get every recruit we go after? At some point you have to win to improve getting more and better players. And, yes I think we have the salary and resources, but the problem definitely seems internal. Does ANYONE think we have the Admin in order? Don't see anyone defending that and I think that's the biggest part of the problem.

It was entertaining watching Hurley sob about every single call when he had nothing to complain about.

He resigned but it wasn't mutual since it was a forced resignation. He was asked for his resignation which is just a kind way of firing someone by letting them save face.
