This isn't meant to be a troll post but an honest question. For those supporting Wilson right now no matter what, I ask you: when do you think it's time to move on?
  • We finish 4-8 (0-8 in Big Ten) in 2015?
  • Another losing season in year 6 but continue to be "close" against good teams?
  • 7 consecutive years of losing?
  • 8 seasons with no bowl game?
The amount of vitreol and hatred for those suggesting to let Wilson go if we don't win 6 games is disappointing. My position is that 6 wins = extension and anything else equals move on. The pieces are in place. I don't agree that changing coaches = a 2-10 season. Others may disagree. Calling people idiots because they don't think 5 years of losing is an acceptable body of work is not helpful. Maybe some people just think we're capable of better.

The progress of this team is undeniable. We're better now than we've been in years but the bar has been so low that it would be hard to get much worse. Is beating 4 bad teams and nice losses worth celebrating? I don't believe in participation trophies and moral victories. The defense continues to be atrocious.

I still hold out hope of a 6 win season and bowl. I measure result by wins on the field. I believe IU can be more than a losing team that "hangs in there" I think that 5 years is enough to show what you're capable of. I don't have confidence that next year's team isn't worse than this one. Maybe we get lucky and have a QB that allows us to win 6 games next year but that seems unlikely.

You may have a different opinion. Intelligent people may disagree.
