CorrectThought only seniors were eligible in Indiana.
So Cupps has the possibility to be as good as OJ Mayo, LeBron and Jim Jackson???? I like it ;pAward only open to seniors in Indiana. It’s open to everyone in Ohio.
Luke Kennard, Sullinger, OJ Mayo, LeBron and Jim Jackson are the only players to win it multiple times. LeBron won it 3x.
lol what?I thought Damon Bailey won it in the 8th grade but I may be mistaken
I can't help thinking about IU's last 5-star junior recruit who was a guard. I will leave it at that.
Sports Illustrated article. Naming him best eighth grader in the nation. If I remember right, in SOTB, RMK would mention Damon around Alford just to piss him off and motivate them. Something like, Bailey was only an eighth grader and could play better defense than Steve.lol what?
Yes but he wasn’t mr basketball as an 8th grader. In Indiana you can’t play high school basketball as an 8th graderSports Illustrated article. Naming him best eighth grader in the nation. Ratings are meaningless to some extent, Lander's play at IU indicates overrated big time. Bad defense, bad shooter, turnover machine. Cupps is a much better shooter than Lander ever was or is. Better distributor and better leader/defender hence the Mr. Basketball award as a JUNIOR> I'll leave it at that.I don't understand your comparison between Lander and Cupps. Gabe Cupps is ranked #125 by Rivals and isn't skipping his senior year. I will leave it at that too.
He was joking. Looks like several people got the joke.Yes but he wasn’t mr basketball as an 8th grader. In Indiana you can’t play high school basketball as an 8th grader
And many did not.He was joking. Looks like several people got the joke.

they've won 43 straight games I think. Not to mention Cupps plays on a damn good high school team. Centerville is 28-0 and is ranked top 5 in the country. Kid’s a winner and extremely tough nosed.
I absolutely love Indiana sarcasm. David Letterman was brilliant using it. Since I am in Pennsylvania I can't really talk like this because some of these big PA guys might punch me in the nose.Apparently.
Aaron Kraft maybewould you project Cupps to be similar to Hulls? Suhr? Coverdale? Yogi?

Seems most like Hulls to me. Cloverdale moved to get a three, Hulls had more versatile offense. Cupps appears as a scoring point guard.would you project Cupps to be similar to Hulls? Suhr? Coverdale? Yogi?

Can he hit a wide open shot consistently?I’d probably say Coverdale if we’re limiting it to those 4. He’s not going to wow you with any one trait, but he’s just an overall good basketball player.

You two must be a blast at parties? And many did not.
Randy Whitman would kick both their asses.cloverdale and Kurt Hastings were my fav
Wittman, one of IU's most underrated players by most. Wittman and Kitchel were a couple of bad dudes . Kitchel doesnt get hurt and we are right there again in 83 . Big10 had a long 3 point line and they were great. The yr RMK raised a banner for the Big10 championship for the fans after Kitch got hurt and said they helped them win it. Loved Wittman.Randy Whitman would kick both their asses.

Tommy Cloverdale. "Big Red"Who is “cloverdale”?
Why didn’t you ask who Kurt Hastings was too? It’s another joke based on common mispronunciations of two IU players - Tom Coverdale and Kirk Haston. It’s similar to how many fans think Lander’s name is Landers. IU fans should know these things.Who is “cloverdale”?
Suhr lol…would you project Cupps to be similar to Hulls? Suhr? Coverdale? Yogi?
