Tamar likes it. He plays better when pissed off, so I need all the he aint gonna be shit posts I can get.

Me saying Newt has bounce like I have never seen, should be agreeable by most. If Geezers saw guys jump like him, it was only a few. He does things EJ and Vic could not come close to doing at the same age. Again, not close to the actual player either were. That isn't overhyping him. He is better than the 64th player in the country.
Can you cite an example where Tamar played better? I'm having a hard time remembering that one.

Tamar? He ain't gonna be shit!
Seems we hear a lot about “confidence “ with him. That’s why he is going to be a star and is a lock for the NBA (because he’s the most confident player we have in ….)

and then last year when his numbers fell off once conference play started it was due to him lacking confidence, or having it shaken.

should be interesting to see.

Hit some key FTs. Tamar didn’t play much, he didn’t play poor, he didn’t excel either. He was not ready to be a big part of the offense last year for a lot of reasons. Size, ability, off the court stuff. He had a kid man. I haven’t had one, to have one at 19. Shit. he is a human.

He’s gonna be really really good this year and everyone is gonna know about it.

I loved EJ. Much better player and shooter than newt. I don’t think he was as bouncy tho.

fwiw - Newton when he's driving to the basketball attacks off two feet. He doesn't float or finesse it, he attacks with power. Most have to be taught to do that especially early.

Not saying he's all that or anything just pointing out where his "bounciness" comes from.

Other more notable players that did the same at this level; Derrick Rose, Westbrook ..

Honestly, that kid had a lot going on in his life outside of basketball. That would make it tough to focus for anybody. Add all the crap going on last year within the team and all the new faces, I’m not surprised he didn’t live up to lofty expectations. Now he has a chance to really step it up and settle in. I hope he does it, because he really flows when he is playing. He needs to get his head straight and his body will follow.

So let me get this straight...he was pissed about something and played better by hitting key free throws? Wow. Not sure I've ever heard of that kind of supernatural skillset. But hey, I've only watched every single IU game since the mid '60s, so maybe the current generation shows their badassery in different ways. :)
