I have been someone critical of CTA for not winning enough in my opinion. However, we can all agree that there would be zero... ZERO... chance that what happened at NU would ever happen at IU under CTA. Now, I continue to have respect for Fitz for winning in a place like Northwestern.

However, it has been difficult to accept justifications of why hazing is acceptable because "it happens everywhere". Hazing does not make your football team better. Intimidation by mortification does not form a brotherhood. There are many other ways to do that in today's world. Especially in today's world. And when the Head Coach is making millions of dollars a year to be The Face of the Program and of the University, they naturally are held to a higher standard.

With that being said, I have a renewed appreciation for LEO culture and I hope it becomes the foundation for future success at IU for CTA, much like it helped the team overcome an injury laden 2019 to win 8 games and end the year ranked in 2020 despite a pandemic affected season

Go Hoosiers!

Yes, #LEO is antithetical to bullying and hazing.

I'm sure there are thousands of NW fans that thought there was ZERO % chance this would happen also.
I would bet everything I own that no one has ever or will ever walk into a Tom Allen locker room and see a whiteboard with players scheduled for "naked slingshots" and/or "naked bear crawls."

And, yes, this kind of shit is bullying and intimidation and humiliation, but let's call a spade a spade. It's also sexual abuse. It's effing disgusting.

Never say "never" no matter the coach or program. As Bowlmania said it is disgusting. Furthermore, college athletes no longer want to be called student athletes . . . they want to be paid and treated as grown men and yet some of them continue the type of immature, twisted, disgusting behavior like what has happened at NU.

Don't kid yourself, men act this way in all kinds of situations, I am not talking about nudity, not just athletic teams. It is the reason so many think us males mature much slower than women, I think women today have shown they don't really mature any faster.

I'm 62 years old and I've never witnessed anything like the incidents reported out of NU or, God forbid, the Penn State incidents years ago. Even in my military days there were a few blanket parties I witnessed and that was bad enough but still not sexual in nature.

Once you force nudity with physical contact then it crosses a line. I personally don't know men who do that in other social situations so I can't corroborate your claim that men act this way in all kinds of situations.

Here's a quick and excellent read:

61 and same. Just pitiful. I have more respect for others and myself for that nonsense. Strange times. Attitude adjustments may be required. Go Hoosiers!

I wasn't talking about nudity but hazing. Even in the USMC we didn't do the nudity thing but gaining stripes.

Yep. There’s bullying at church camp!

This is just another example of social pressure running the world. Anything reported on Twitter = termination, the death penalty of the workplace.

Many football coaches stay out of “the players locker room” as much as possible. Give them space. “Treat them like adults.” etc.

“Plausible deniability” is dead.

I don't know where you all come from, but forcing men to get naked and touch other naked men is not normal. Anywhere.

Most of us and maybe none of us are talking about getting naked so get over it. We are talking about hazing at different places.

Except the allegations (and they're just allegations at this point) in this specific case include exactly what IUCX9 has described (e.g. compelling a naked freshman quarterback to take a snap from a naked center, another activity known as "the car wash") and other forms of coerced sexual contact.

Well the thread is about hazing at NW, which involved forced male nudity and sexual contact, so I'm pretty sure that topic was clear.

Your reply started "Don't kid yourself, men act this way in all kinds of situations".

MTIOTF replied to you "Yep. There’s bullying at church camp!"

I was pointing out that what happened at NW doesn't happen in "all kinds of situations" and I hope to God it doesn't happen in Church camp.
