Look at Beileins first three years at Michigan and Bennett’s first couple years at Virginia. Nothing unusual going on. Archie’s recruited one class. Takes a while. Have to break it down before it’s built up.

Crean couldn’t have asked for anything better for his image than what’s going on now.

I totally agree. In year 3 at Virginia Tony Bennet was 22-10 9-7 and made the NCAA, is this unreasonable to ask from Archie or are you saying give him year 4, then 5, then 6 or hell however long it takes. I don’t understand why as a fan you are called unreasonable if you expect an NCAA bid in a certain time frame.
I think every intelligent fan would love Crean back if given only the choice between Archie or Crean.

Why in the world does he get a pass he alreay had a three year honeymoon where some of you refused to criticize him at all. His third year was an absolute disaster and they actually regressed. If not for zeller he would not have survived past year four.
As far as next year 20 plus wins and an NCAA berth. No ncaa in year three is a big big failure in imo. Archie was not left with a Crean situation and there should be no excuse for not making the tourney next year.

I agree. It’s brutal right now. The best contributors happen to be two guys Archie recruited (one who dealt with a concussion) and one senior left over from CTC.
The system is fine. He utilizes big men. He runs a weave at top like CTC did. This team has zero shooters due to roster imbalance and one recruiting class of his own.
Long term he’ll be awesome. It sucks now. Agree. But Archie’s defense is better with 3 guys vs CTCs with 7 guaranteed. Offense will come.

How do you know long term we will be awesome. Just curious? People said the same thing about crean but you do not know that.
I keep hearing we have no shooters. So these guys get high level division one scholorships and cannot shoot. What in the world do they do all summer? Why in the world are they not jacking up two to three hundreds threes a day. Damon Bailey was a forward in high school and became a good three point shooter cause he practiced his shooting alot. To be as flat out awful as they are from three is inexcusable.
Obviously I don’t know, but look at what he did at Dayton. Look at this first recruiting class. Look at this next class. He’s building a PROGRAM for the LONG TERM.
As to why division one guys can’t shoot. It’s mind boggling to me too, but Archie isn’t out there playing. Maybe these guys aren’t that good (which are all CTCs guys). Even Romeo misses outside shots a lot. Robert P is going to be a 4year stud.
There are pieces that are in place. The groundwork is there. May just go back a bit to get to the top and stay at the top.

They are not all CTC guys though. Durham and Smith never played one second for crean and neither did romeo or rob. That is four of the five starters.

They have played under his system for 1.5 years. You can try and give a pass all you want but this season is a complete fiasco.

time of his hire IU could attract talent in name

to Miller, nor was it offered to Samson or Davis.
Morgan averaged 9 minutes a game as a freshman on a loaded team. He averaged 20 minutes a game and 8 points and six boards a game the next year Those two cant even get off the bench on a team depleted by injuries. That is concerning to me.

So Archie’s year 2 and Creans year 3 are both total disasters (so far), yet Crean started with literally no players, well Kyle Tabor.
