I haven't done a lot of research, but how did the COVID year work? Take Edey for example. Didn't the 2019-2020 season get cut short due to 2? And Edey played in 2020-2021, 2021-2022, 2022-2023, and 2023-2024. How would he qualify for a COVID year? He enrolled in 2020. I guess I just don't understand how it works. Not like he was in school the year the season got cancelled.

I thought if you were a college athlete for the '19-20 school year (whatever year there was no tournament) you got an extra year if you choose to use it. Was he maybe a redshirt, or maybe the year with no tourney was 20-21.

no redshirt and the tournament was cancelled in 2019-2020. I guess they gave an extra year to anyone in a "COVID impacted season." Makes no sense to me. They played a full season in 20-21 so not sure what the "impact" was.

They played a full season minue the ncca and they get an extra year. Mind boggling to me. So now you got some 25 year olds still playing.
