Conwell to Louisville?

I thought IU had a huge NIL budget to get the best transfers? Or maybe recruits don’t want to commit to a team with no players and an unproven head coach.

Anyone expecting a big year one turnaround is in for disappointment. This program has been mismanaged to the point of near death.

That just means lots of PT is available.

This one certainly stings a bit for IU. By all accounts, the Hoosiers wanted Ryan Conwell and he's headed to Louisville instead. For IU, there is still PLENTY of time and a whole lot of players that can make a positive difference. I do think the urgency to land Josh Dix just went up higher and I know the Hoosiers feel good about their chances with him. Conor Enright is a potential add in the near future as well.

From a roster fit, I actually do prefer having Josh Dix/Tucker DeVries and then a very athletic combo guard type that is a strong defender and someone who's strength is attacking the rim off the dribble and finishing in the paint. With the desired floor spacing, having a player that can slash into the lane and blow-by his defender would be advantageous. Of course, good players with those skillsets are not easy to find so that's a big "IF" as an "upgrade" in terms of roster fit.

You think because they don’t have to sign 13 new guys their current guys don’t want paid 😂
You don’t have to pay them all…we have to basically pay them all because we have to get all portal kids. Unless we go dumpster diving to fill roster spots 8-13

Stop that. Woody’s gone. Be happy.

Would much prefer a 2 way triple threat at that spot and at the 1. I question his defense, and shot creating ability. and not sure if he and Tucker when paired have the defensive ability. I know he can make shots, but can he get his own when the clock is winding down.

If you look at all the championship teams in the 30 sec era, every team has had that guy and generally had 2 to 3 of them. It's what IU has been missing for a decade.

IU got Kanaan Carlyle last year. He was "one of the best transfers".

I doubt DeVries is going down this path.

There may be a return to real Indiana basketball. That is, where guys who are not driven entirely by money, come to IU to win games as the #1 priority.
