Congrats on his announced retirement. Mike has been a long time innovator in this space truly advancing not only the technology but the business of fan information, journalism and forum sharing. Rivals and now 247 are what they are in no small part because of Pioneer Mike and bazillions of IU fans that have/do follow each. I moved from the AOL and Netscape environments into Peegs in his earliest days. Met Mike only a couple of times at Peegs tailgates but stayed with him through Peegs then 247 until very recently.

The reigns are handed to RabJohns, and while not a fan of his, I wish him Mike Weaver and staff the best.

I see the day, when my hair's full gery, and I finally...disappear.

had a buddy who got stupid drunk one night at the Horeshoe casino and got banned for life, when it changed hands to Caesars I think, he was able to go back, wonder if Peegs will be the same way?

that pretty much was the story on my friend, peegs banned me for life years ago was just curious if it was his working life or my mortal life, I never had a hearing. either way I'll probably just stay here
I read it as peegs was banned from the casino, not you being banned from peegs. All good now. Stay with is brah.

Were you banned for constantly starting nonsense threads while blacked out?

I think the first time I read a Pegram post it was re Kei Madison.

He made a living - a good one I presume - off of IU b-ball and didn't have to leave his house.

He took a lot of shit but I thought he always had a pro product. Rabjohns was a great addition.

Crean effed a lot of things up for Peegs. lol

I was a Peegs guy back when it first got started

Good post! I started on Peegs the fall of 1997. When their were early recruiting reports of AJ Moye, Andre Owens, Jeff Newton, Kei Madison, George Leach etc. Kei didnt work out and Leach had the academic issue. Anyways nothing like waiting 5-7 minutes on dial up for an upload of a Jared Jeffries give and go!

Yes! Just had a flashback to 1997 and AOL...

The time when it won't connect and you have the same meltdown you did when the nintendo froze
lmao
I got so pissed at my mom or dad if the picked up the phone and kicked me off line when I was in some serious mack mode on AOL instant messenger. away messages were sick..... I would legit keep my parents phone line busy so I could have an "away message" when I was outside getting in trouble

All of it was such an improvement over the AOL forums. Mike was ahead of his time and helped create the on-line fan experience we know today. Di you ever hit any of the tailgates back then?

No I did not. I remember saying "hi" to Mike at one of the barnstorming tours one year. I believe the Bassett, Keeling, Mike White and Lance Stemler incoming class. Altho Keeling wasnt in attendance. Terre Haute i believe. My only meeting with him.

Mike is a really good guy. Played golf with him a few times at Otter Creek along with a mutual friend. I was stunned when he left a cushy finance position at Arvin to go full-time with Peegs.com. He deserves enormous credit for where we are today. Lastly, it was his IU basketball forum I’d just logged into when someone first posted about a small plane hitting the WTC. You know the rest of the story.

Attended a Jeff High basketball game with him, attended a tailgater at an IU football game and attended an IU game with him and other Peegsters at the Colts’ stadium. I have nothing negative to say about Peegs. He and I were also swimmers in the same era, but he was far better at that. ;)

good spot for this, went to taco bell got 2 regular tacos and some 5 layered burrito, tasted like shit knew it would, bill was 6 something gave them a 50 said keep the change, oh thank you the tatted man said, let me help you out brother he told me, threw a bunch of shit in the bag I said not necessary but thanks, got home I have enough taco sauce for my next 60 trips to taco bell,

How do you get "banned for life" from an internet forum. Just make a new account.

I went to some of the tailgates and sat with a group, including Peegs at some high school games. Met his wife and kids a couple of times also. I remember being up late at night during the JJ recruitment when he was assumed to be going to Duke, when Mike got word that it was IU. Good times.

Semi-serious question: what exactly is wrong with you kurt?
