Hegseth is least likely to be confirmed. Whole lot of smoke about sexual misconduct, drunkenness, and financial impropriety. If the background check finds the smoke leads to fires, he will not be confirmed. My vote was more along the lines of trying to be realistically optimistic. Patel and Hegseth are legit crazy conspiracy theorists and RFK Jr.'s qualifications seem to be he's a rich Kennedy who has read a lot of health blogs. Gabbard and Noem have their marks against them too, but at least they can at least give the appearance of an adult in the room.
That said, I fully expect to be disappointed here.
I hope RFK Jr is not confirmed…the rest at this point I don’t really have an opinion on. Trump made a very good nomination for Secretary of Labor….based on the coalition that elected himHegseth is least likely to be confirmed. Next least likely is Patel. He claims to believe, despite zero evidence, that the 2020 election was stolen. I consider that alone to be disqualifying for FBI Director. The FBI is supposed to follow the evidence, how could he be trusted to do that? He also has published an enemies list with justifications that is nonsense on steroids.
Gabbard is susceptible to believing and spreading Russian misinformation and disregarding US intelligence and she has no intelligence experience at all. All that should disqualify her from any intelligence job, especially DNI. However, she may be confirmed.
RFK Jr is a conspiracy theorist, anti-vax, and generally nutty. He shouldn’t be confirmed, but probably will be.
Noem has no experience or apparent skills to head Homeland Security, but I’d bet she’s confirmed.
Patel’s target list is included in this article:I answered four because I figure both Hegseth and Patel are iffy, so odds are in favor of one of them not crossing the finish line, but I wouldn't be surprised if all five actually get through.
Lots of former Trump appointees and staffers on that list. Since he put them in positions of power and influence, does that make Trump part of the Double Secret Deep State?Patel’s target list is included in this article:

Biden should pardon all of them.Patel’s target list is included in this article:

The problem is it doesn’t appear any committed crimes . . .Biden should pardon all of them.
I'm sure that matters deeply to Patel. Just issue a blanket pardon for any crime committed in the past 15 years. The problem is it doesn’t appear any committed crimes . . .
I’m surprised Patel was picked. He doesn’t seem to have any sexual assault stuff in his past. I suppose the conspiracy stuff still qualifies him.My vote was more along the lines of trying to be realistically optimistic. MAGA was unhappy with the Chronister pick from what I saw. He was arresting pastors during Covid and a Red Flag law supporter.Another nominee goes down. Chad Chronister, who Trump picked to head the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), withdrew his nomination. MAGA isn't going to be happy that the Senate Republicans are letting Trump and his nominees know that they're not going to rubber stamp approve all these nominees. Such disloyalty! Right, @dbmhoosier?
And Trump says no, he didn't withdraw, I pulled him.Another nominee goes down. Chad Chronister, who Trump picked to head the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), withdrew his nomination.
"No one is above the law"I'm sure that matters deeply to Patel. Just issue a blanket pardon for any crime committed in the past 15 years.
Except Trump. You clearly believe he's above the law."No one is above the law"
You clearly don't realize my opinion means squat to the DoJ.Except Trump. You clearly believe he's above the law.
Now the count of Republican Senators that are unlikely to vote to confirm Hegseth has grown to seven. He's toast. DeSantis or Ernst will easily be confirmed if Trump nominates either of them to replace Hegseth. It's just a matter of a few days before Hegseth withdraws. Trump isn't going to fight for him and he's already working on a replacement. Unofficially, insiders say there are probably five or six Republican Senators that are unlikely to vote to confirm. I'm sticking with my prediction that he'll withdraw this weekend.
Yeah, go ahead and nominate Joni. I'm sure there won't be an questions around these reports. Now the count of Republican Senators that are unlikely to vote to confirm Hegseth has grown to seven. She'd easily be confirmed. I think if DeSantis really wants to run for President, being SecDef will be helpful to his cause. It broadens his resume in a key area. We already know he can run a state well.Yeah, go ahead and nominate Joni. I'm sure there won't be an questions around these reports.
I wonder how many know about it? Think as many know Hegseth likes a drink?
