Bradley Associate Head Coach Mike Bargen Joins DeVries' Staff

The new basketball staff for Indiana University is nearly complete with the hiring of Mike Bargen.

Mike Bargen is official. My assumption is that he joins as a player development/on-campus recruiter and the fifth assistant hire will be the third off-campus recruiter but we shall see. Bradley runs really good stuff and DeVries would know Bargen well so this makes a lot of sense.

UPDATE: I updated the article because Bargen is not going to be one of the five assistant coaches. Very interesting because he's well-respected and has been a head coach and Associate Head for a combined nearly 20 years. He is going to be on the staff in some role...perhaps Director of Basketball Operations or as a Special Assistant to the Head Coach. Once his role is known, we'll relay the message.

Good addition...obviously assuming the role he has matches the experiences and skills he brings.

Im not sure what to think about Drew Adams being hired. He did not bring Flory to IU. Did he truly make a big impact at Bradley or Cincy?

Cincy fans were asking the same thing on a couple forums, when he left. They didn't seem to think his move was any loss for them.

But, he wasn't there long.

Hopefully Coach Devries' reasons turn out to be the right ones.
