Cinci Game

If UC plays like they did the other day, Indiana will have a decent shot at the upset. Indiana should be out for blood on Saturday after last year's game with them.
Lots of new faces on the roster this season can take some of the weight out of a revenge week strategy.

Regarding the line...I checked the early lines yesterday and we were
+8.5 at noon

Ceaser's which has locations downtown and Anderson website posted at 8 p.m. last night at
+14

This morning Ceasar's had IU at +15.5

@76-1 ...I watched that Cinci Arky game too. Arkansas pounded them on the ground. Honestly it was game 1. Hard to get an idea especially the Arkansas offense.

Anyways, as far as line play goes this will be our toughest test. I didn't see any of the Cinci game Saturday as it clashed with ours. Baze has seen ALOT tougher D-lines week in week out in the SEC for 2 years and he has shown toughness in the pocket. Hitting 12 different receivers was impressive. His completion percentage was in the high 60's at Mizzou. Its dropped in the 50's here. I imagine there is still a learning curve, but he hit 60% last week.

We show glimpses...Late in the game we look like world beaters. If only we could come out of the box strong. Maybe its just taking awhile for the offense and defense to adjust and they sure are figuring it out unlike years past when we would fold. Credit to the coaches there.

If Cincy lets us hang around it could be a death sentence for them. Lets hope this run continues it sure is exciting.
+17 now on DraftKings, that's tempting! If it makes it to 17.5, I'm in.

We rank 116th in total Defense
108th vs the run.
We rank 96th in rushing Offense.

I see the reason why the line was set at 14. I’d watch until late in the week and see if it goes down. The sharps will put their money on the game then. I’m optimistic but it is our first road game and even though it’s a smaller stadium, it will be loud. They have the second longest home winning streak in the nation.

It appears there will be a large number of IU fans there but still a tough place to play I am sure.

It will be a tough, partisan environment and, with so many new and younger players, you have no idea how the team will react. Hope we can come out competitive from the start, as falling behind early on the road is a steep hill to climb.

Go Hoosiers.

This team has shown the ability to do juuuust what it takes to win.

They can beat Cincinnati. If they want to continue to do just what it would take to win, they'll have to be a lot more solid for much longer stretches against Cincy. Even having a bad half or so, similar to Illinois, would likely end our chances against them. Playing as many bad minutes as we did against Idaho and WKU, Cincy would likely blow us out. But if we can play 3ish quarters of really good, solid, football...it might be enough to enable us to overcome at the end.

It would be a very good sign if they did just that. As it would bring a handful more games into the fold as winnable games the rest of the year. Cincy is probably about as good as teams like Maryland, Penn State, Michigan State, and Purdue. A little better than some of these, a little worse than some.

Beating Cincy, however it might happen, sure would make the prospects for the rest of the season a lot brighter. Getting thumped...well, that'd do the opposite for me. As I think this team is hanging by a thread right now, and getting thumped by Cincy could cut that thread and put us into a free fall. We know much of Allen's teams success is predicated on emotion and energy. Need a good showing here to keep that going.

JerryPalm.com has us as a 30 point dog at Cincy. He also has Purdue ranked 3rd in the nation behind Bama and OSU.

By the way, Palm graduated from Purdoo. He is the poster child for typical Purdue male. Absolute nerd.

and 16 on BetOnline

Good enough for me.

Note: I am a small wager guy.
16.5 on FanDuel now. People are hammering Cincy evidently. Still I'm not touching with a ten foot pool. I see IU getting drilled. Other than the never quit attitude, I haven't seen a whole lot of positives so far this year. Or least anything that would lead me to believe they won't get absolutely drilled by Cincy. I admit I am not really familiar with the Bearcats team this year though.

Have we covered yet this season? I don't think we haved. Illinois game maybe on a couple sites.
Depends on what line you use, we definitely didn't cover the opening line, which was 4.5 or 3.5 depending on what site you used. But it was pushed under three pretty quickly, the line closed at nearly even(clearly a lot of IL money flowed into those sportsbooks) so we did cover the final line and I'd imagine the majority of the money that was bet on the game.

So you're pretty sure we'll get drilled, but you're not familiar with Cinci?

Well I mean have you watched IU this year? They are 3-0 but... um...its not been pretty to put it kindly.

I do know that Cincinnati's defense and offense are both rank 29th. Both light years ahead of ours. IU is 116 and 62 respectively. Overall our strength of schedules so far are virtually the same.

Start counting your money. 17 is still a good bet.
D, I live in Cincinnati and no one dislikes the Bearcats, not to mention the Buckeyes, as much as I do. That said, we’re looking at a superior team, with a superior coach, at home.

35-3 UC.

I’ll gladly eat the crow, with plenty of bbq sauce, if I’m wrong. But we don’t have ARE this time . . .

I see the game Saturday as IU's Nebraska game from 2019. An IU win will open some eyes and help get IU to bowl eligibility prior to the Bucket game. An IU loss will signal potential struggles against lower tier conference teams. Not a season ender but certainly a potential season maker.

3 seems a bit ridiculous. IU had a dysfunctional offense that didn’t know which way was forward last year and scored 24 against them.

Lol I am going to bump the hell out of this.

Cincinnati’s defense is better than last year? Really? You’re going with that?
Jesus. Chill.

Facing a better defense than the three faced to-date.

First game on the road this year, against a team superior to any of the three we’ve played so far.

I guarantee we'll score more than 3 points. I guess we'll see.
