You can always tell who on this board has had employees to manage and who will always be employees being managed by the stupid sh-t they say when there is an active coaching search.

Dolson’s choice is still coaching in the sweet 16. As soon as he loses (or goes the whole way) he’ll be announced. Otherwise he would have announced his choice already from firmer IU guys or Matta, etc. Simplest conclusion usually wins out.

Most likely, Dolson pulled the trigger on Archie thinking he had Brad but wasn't smart enough to get anything in writing beforehand. Brad changed his mind and he's now scrambling.
pure speculation.

No I’m saying you can tell who doesn’t have a clue about hiring/firing. Exhibit A: in this very thread one moron actually proposed hiring someone just to demote them a month later. In what universe does that make sense?

Why would Dolson put his job on the line if he didn’t know it was a home run hire? No way he puts himself in position to be bullied by donors. He would have to know up front before dismissing Archie who the replacement would be. And he’s not gonna pull that curtain unless he knows it’s a grand slam. I’m buying this Koolaide.
The risk reward makes no sense for what’s left to pick from. And if it was gonna be an IU guy it would of happened by now.
Im eating the candy.

Or IU is just incompetent, as usual.
