Chicago politics and events

That vid is blowing up all over. I posted in another thread more violence. Cops are like its only April this is going to get a lot worse.

Honestly, we pick on Chicago but where liberals rein supreme, this garbage is becoming more of the norm.

I support shooting looters and rioters. They should get the Ashley Babbit treatment that so many here vocalized as the FAFO method of dealing with an unruly crowd. Additionally, these cities are big on disarming people like the store owner getting robbed or the white lady being beaten and what appeared to be robbed (sounded like someone said to get the bag)--and if that is a fake video, they need to get the person who did it to Hollywood quick. The look and motion of her body getting yanked looked real to me--you are supposed to be defenseless and reliant on the police who were on scene in LA but underpowered to do anything or were nowhere to be found in Chicago.

The country is rotting from the inside out and you got Progressives leading the charge. Progress forward over the cliff.
And any protesting that blocks traffic run over. I want to get a rover like a Haitian elite with bumpers and shit for plowing people

I don't think we know that.
Yes we do. Both the shooter and the victim agree on that fact.

The only fact in dispute is whether the teen pulled on the handle of the locked door or not. The shooter says that he did, the victim says that he didn't.

A friend just called and told me that the local Fox affiliate here interviewed the parents of the girl in the video and they said she was doing OK. I'm trying to find that clip.

ETA: Here's a report that the police have confirmed she suffered minor injuries and was with a 22 year old male who was also attacked and robbed by the group.

Awful. The optics are horrible, as well.

Looks like a Good Samaritan helped the young couple that was attacked:

The new normal I guess. Well, now I know why there are so many Illinois plates around. I thought it was overblown but I guess it's real.
I have one buddy who still lives in chicago in mt greenwood. They voted vallas by like 80 percent but was not enough. My other buddies have all moved out. The hipsters in north chicago all voted johnson. The only real option is to leave honestly unless you want to stay you just have to suck it up. Nothing will get better so those are the options.

I love fried chicken. Eat it 3-4 times a week.

I might go to opening night of each location in a tux.

Bojangles is really good (from my experiences in the Carolinas).

BTW, the Bo Berry Biscuits are seriously legit.

The election was literally 49/51. That’s why it kind of irks me when smug conservative talking heads will comment “You voted for this, you get what you deserve”. Half the people didn’t. Most of the tax base didn’t.

I’d like to think it’s still salvageable. I don’t think it’s the next Detroit or St. Louis the demographics and industry is too diverse as the article Brad posted the other day showed.

Why those people up in Rogers Park and Edgewater voted for Johnson is baffling. There’s still reasonably good property values up there and most are college educated.

Half the people who voted in the runoff went for Johnson. That's only about 18% of the city's population.

Why didn't Vallas get more people out to vote? Don't know. He's not a very inspiring or charismatic figure. And I think Johnson's campaign was meant to depress and embarrass people from voting for Vallas by shamelessly and falsely labeling him a MAGA Republican, racist, etc.

If you like fried chicken, you won't like Bojangles. The Colonel makes much better fried chicken.

Love the Bojangles biscuits, though - their breakfast sandwiches are good.

They started here in Charlotte and there's one basically on every corner.

Talking heads say "you get what you deserve" for voting for a guy who hasn't even taken office yet, and your but complaint is they didn't notice it was a close election?

Kimm Foxx everyone

would be surprised if charges aren't up graded.

pssed as heck if not.

that said, it brings me back to something a while back that still has me fuming.

in the fog of battle, a long time lady cop who meant to tase a kid who was trying to flee an arrest in his car, accidentally shot him instead.

then the George Floyd mob shat all over her, and demanded she be charged with murder.

vehicles are deadly objects in car chases, and it's an almost everyday occurrence that some POS trying to outrun police kills or maims someone.

fleeing police in a vehicle should legally be treated as resisting arrest with a deadly weapon, and anyone doing so should be fair game for police to stop them by whatever means necessary, including shooting them if necessary.

and if that lady cop is in jail, she should be released immediately and reinstated on the force.

It’s always interesting to see posters like Bloom and Zeke give their opinions on theses issues from Carmel and Bloomington then conveniently disappear.

Chicago is a dump and most people with any sense are planning their eventual escape. I personally can’t wait to leave. Politicians and purple hairs will learn what shitting on your tax base really means.
