How many times does CAM need to change the path in 3 years. That language is getting old.

He is over his head. Good coaches have a system that usually works . That being said he will likely do the bare minimum to stay here 5 to 9 years. Ncaa next year with extension to follow if i had to guess.

I’m not sure they’ll be a tournament team next year. His teams do not show consistency. For a team to beat FSU and MSU , then just not show up for other games is a huge problem. By February the consistency should be there.

That is what I REALLY don't get. I still think Archie is a good coach. Is the stage too big for him? Does he think that motivation is all on the players? Is he trying to be their friend?

I just don't get it!

And maybe THE questions is: Is he only a good coach when he has his players?

He’s not a great coach he’s ok it’s not like he won .750 of his games at Dayton he didn’t even have that great a record

List out the positives then , or stop reading. Reality bites.

okay, we make the tourney this year as something like an 8 seed. Same or better team comes back next year and gets like a 5 seed. We make a little bit of noise in the tourney. Recruits notice. We start rolling. This scenario is totally in play and not so out of question that you fire a guy you’ve invested a lot into.

But we get that in the world of darkness some of you crave IU players don’t get better even when they do. We get that this is about emotion for you guys. Our 3rd year coach must out run 25 years of meh. I guess we get it but it’s pretty dumb.

I am beginning to think Archie's assistant staff is not what iit should be. He needs a couple of seasoned veterans who aren't afraid to tell him when he needs to make adjustments.....tell him when he's barking up the wrong tree. He could sure use a wise old owl on the sidelines with him about now....

You really think we’ll hold an 8 seed? We’ll be lucky to hold on. And what would give us hope for a 5 seed next year? And I’m not being a smartass. Serious question

Archie is the IU coach because of his family name. That’s it. And he will be known as similar to John Groce very soon.

Always been “Sean’s brother”
Is sean really thy great of a coach? The difference is his recruiting is lights out and archies is average at best. Sean has tremendous talent to hide his coaching deficiencies.

Bingo. Sean can’t coach but he’s dirty and can recruit. Archie can’t do either.

Heard Dakich earlier saying Smith and Green were going at each other - Smith telling Green to move over to box out, Green calling him the n-word.

IF TRUE - it’s on Archie if Green plays again and the slide continues. I still believe philosophy-wise Miller is ok and he still lacks talent. But you CANNOT allow a guy like Green to be a cancer - he either buys in or you cut him loose.

We’ll see Saturday.

That’s not atypical of any team sport, especially when tensions are high. But there have been rumors for the past couple of years of turmoil and conflict within the team and, if true, it must be taking a toll. And, I agree, cancers must go. But everything you hear is that this has been ongoing, and that it’s never been dealt with.

I think we were assuming while hoping that last season’s exodus would somehow take care of the rumors of internal strife. Apparently not, but to steal one of Archie’s favorite, albeit getting tiresome, phrases...the bottom line is, at the end of the day, we’ll see.
