CFP applications

Season ticket holders had to apply for their seats for the game, and could also apply for four additional tickets.

So, sounds like the game will sell out if it happens.
Season ticket holders were given the opportunity to request an additional 8 seats over and above their season ticket seats.

College Football Playoff First Round Ticket Information

As the 2024 IU Football regular season winds down, our attention will quickly turn to the postseason. To help you plan for one of the possibilities, we want to inform you about your ticket options for a potential College Football Playoff first-round home game played at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington.

Information about other postseason opportunities will be communicated as it becomes available.
College Football Playoff First Round (Potential)
Dec. 20 or 21 (TBD)
Memorial Stadium
Deadline to Submit Request: Wednesday, Nov. 27, 11:59 p.m.

Note: If IU is seeded 5-8 in the College Football Playoff bracket that is announced on Dec. 8, Memorial Stadium will host a first-round CFP game on either Dec. 20 or 21. You can learn more about the College Football Playoff format HERE.

IU Football season ticket holders will have the opportunity to purchase any or all of their season ticket seat locations and any or all of their parking passes through their IU Athletics Ticket account. If season ticket holders want to purchase additional game tickets (up to eight additional tickets can be requested), you will be able to make that request during the ticket request process. Those requests will be fulfilled based on the IU Athletics Priority Point system. If you wish to purchase additional tickets and want all of your tickets to be seated together, you will have to forfeit your season ticket location in order for us to accommodate the request. Ticket prices range from $100 to $500/ticket for the potential first-round game at Memorial Stadium.

If you purchased seatbacks for 2024 regular season games, you will need to purchase them separately for this potential first-round game.

During the submission process, you will provide a form of payment for your online request for College Football Playoff game tickets and parking pass(es). But your card will not be charged unless your request is fulfilled.

Good for season ticket holders. Finally getting rewarded for loyalty. I like it too. Bandwagon people always pay more. Massive grin! Cost more to be late. Go Hoosiers!
Yep. I'm not a season ticket holder, but I like the ones that are getting the first cut at the tickets. They deserve it and I prefer them controlling the bulk of the tickets (assume they will with the request up to 8).

Of course it's still a bit of a long shot to host a game, but just discussing this hypothetical.

I think it’s great they’re being rewarded as well but I can also see on the negative side. A holder buys eight additional tickets but then puts them up for sale. How many would be sold to the visiting team fans? Does IU want that to happen? Instead of 2500(?) tickets they now might have 10000. Sorry to be negative.

I'm a long-time season ticket holder but I agree with your take. I have 3 season tickets. If that is the number of people in my group who typically attend games, I'm not sure why I, or anyone else in my position, should be entitled to additional tickets. I'll take my 3 and be fine with it.
I'll also add that the seats on either side of me, and the entire row in front of me have been occupied by different people every single game for the last two years. I've never met the actual owner of any of those seats. I'm not a fan of the idea that the "fan(s)" who actually have those season tickets can actually get more tickets to sell for a playoff game. On the bright side, at least this season the seats around me have actually been occupied by IU fans and not those from visiting schools. And we all know that the owners of those tickets are basketball-only fans, using the football tickets for priority points. Selling them each week negates the cost, and in a year like this, probably makes them a buck or two. Maybe even enough to grab a couple of seats for a Notre Dame game or two.

I get what you are saying, but this program needs all the fan support it can get.
No doubt. And Memorial Stadium has been amazing the last few games.

I'm just dreading the 100,000 people who are going to act like they never missed a game in 20 years and how they're each the most die-hard of die hard fans.

I haven't spent all this time flirting with a 6 to get overtaken by some schmoe that only has come around when she turned into a 9. LOL

Weird, I coulda sworn it was 4. Oh well, guess I was mistaken. I just ordered my 2 for the game and passed on the extras. I don't have a lot of points so I wouldn't expect to get extras that were very good.

I’m not a season ticket holder, but I’d pay a couple $100 for some nosebleeds if anyone would have an extra ticket or 8!
I had to buy tickets to the Michigan game for a costumer and 4 were $1400. So I'm guessing the playoff tickets will be a little more than a couple hundo on the secondary market.

I only requested our two seats and no extras. I was going to order 1 extra for my daughter but I don't have a lot of points so a friends parents ordered one for her but I was a bit surprised on how many extra you could request.

Yeah, in hindsight I shoulda ordered 8 and scalped them. Oh well.

You’ll likely be able to finally meet Cavanaugh when he shows up in the seat in front of you for the playoff if it happens.
