Went to the CG/Pike game tonight. Trayce is definitely a man among boys out there and is almost too big and athletic for the high school game. He looks every bit of 6'9 and has a huge wingspan. TJD had a nice stroke from the free throw line and appears to have some mid-range potential. TJD scored most of his points around the basket and had a couple of sick dunks that showed off his athleticism. TJD didn't have much of a handle, but he is a big guy and most don't. His presence and wingspan definitely affect shots and protect the rim. Trayce comes off smooth and cool, kind of like Romeo. But, Trayce got pretty fired up a couple of times and showed some fire. He reminds me a little of Alan Henderson, and I can only hope he ends up that good. If Trayce can add a mid-range game and work on his post moves, he will be a beast. IU definitely needs a rim protector, shot blocker, and post presence.

This probably wasn't the best game to see what Trayce can do. Pike blew CG's doors off and won by like 40: the game was over after the first 3-4 minutes. Pike double teamed TJD whenever he got the ball down low and did a good job of pushing him away from the basket. When Trayce tried to dribble towards the bucket, there were Pike players there to try and pick his pocket. Pike seldom missed tonight, including 3 pointers: I haven't seen too many teams shoot like that. It was kind of like UMBC last year in the NCAA's against Virginia. Pike's shooting percentage had to be in the 70's or 80's. Pike played as perfect of a game as you can and took CG out of the game early. Other than Trayce, Pike was simply the more athletic team.

Thanks for the update. I am hopeful that he is not a one and done player. However, the chance he leaves IU as good as Henderson in 95 seems far fetched in the modern era. They all leave before they reach their potential.

He's very good but not quite 1 and done level good yet. He would have to develop his outside shot a bit before he should even think about declaring, 6"8 guys that haven't yet developed their shot are a dime a dozen in the NBA. My guess is he's likely a 3 year player at IU. That being said he's a great rebounder/shot blocker, is skilled around the basket, and he's also quick for his size. Easily one of my favorite players in this class and can't wait for him to get on campus.

Center Grove must not have much of a supporting cast. 40 point loss is an absolute beating given TJD 5 star status.

So CG hS bo chance vs LaLu with 5* Brooks, 5* Stewart, and a team D1 level players. I will be there tonight to watch TJD and Brooks. Brooks had 40 in a recent game, and can shoot the perimeter shot. Brooks would complement TJD's inside game nicely at IU.

Pretty much. TJD took one break during the 3rd quarter for a minute or two, and CG looked totally lost. Pike was simply the more athletic team, and they did a good job of cutting the head off of the snake, so to speak.
