Cartwright commits

Glad to have him onboard. His raw athleticism and size combined with our Strength & Conditioning program means the sky is the limit for this young man if he's willing to work.

If given the choice, I'd think always having size would be preferable. But will say, for whatever reason Delroy Baker & Devondre Love, two very large boys, have not really broken through on Oline. But hoping they may be able to step up this year. And very bullish Caleb Jones may end up being a real load of a Tackle for IU ahead. Hoping Cartright will have a great career ahead, and excited to keep that FL to IU pipeline continuing to flow!

I like Cartwrights starting point with his foot speed.

5 flat in the forty is NFL first round draft pick level quickness on the OL.

Remains to be seen if he is willing to put the work in to add size, power, and technique to that speed but as an incoming freshman that forty time is a really good place to start from (in my opinion)...

I think with that 40 time he is a candidate to play defense. But if not a guy with that athleticism is an o line coaches dream.

Looking at his Rivals highlight video........He's got the frame, for sure. However, to me he looks slow off the ball and plays very high. His footwork is not very good. I think he's a 3 year project.

He's got two plus years to resolve those deficiencies with top of the line coaching and conditioning.

I like him. Solid OL project... He can be as good as he decides he wants to be (in my opinion).

here's another cartwright that would have made a helluva offensive lineman.
