I presume they don't want to kill/badly hurt someone and escalate it so idiots are really converging on DC, but clearly they didn't fence these folks in properly.
Anyway 1) the House/Senate can convene somewhere else and 2) We get President Pelosi in the worst case scenario where these nuts occupy the building.
If they weren't a whiter shade of pale someone would have been shot by now.
Evidently the mayor of DC asked for the national guard but no one seems to know why they are not there.

My guess is that many protesters present today are in DC for the first time and have been triggered by offensive statues that remain in the city.
