Hartman has worked very hard and is playing a tough role. Without him, we would have Hoetzel and Holt in the post. Teams have seen enough of our adjustments with Hartman and will continue to pick it apart. Hanner doesn't anticipate what the offense is going to do and reacts too slowly to be a really good defender, but he can alter shots and has enough strength to battle in the paint. We miss his length and the ability to occupy space in the middle.

Our smaller lineup worked for a while, but teams have learned to attack it on offense. Hartman has filled in as best as we could expect, but there is only so many tricks to counter the post size deficit and teams have seen them all,

Fischer hinted that there is an outside chance that Hanner could be back Sunday. I don't care if it is 5 minutes as long as it forces UM to change how they play us.

I would be surprised to see April and Priller in any games the rest of the season. Burton has played since we last saw either of those 2 in the game. CTC mentioned that April wasn't putting in the work he needed to. That is not what a player would want the coach to tell the public. Not sure if that applies to both players, but it is obvious in a team lacking height that if they could play at all, they would be in the game.

I have no clue why Holt doesn't get a ton more minutes.

It's simply mind boggling. He's the only player that can protect the rim, and the experience he would get would be incredible. UGH

He was exposed last night facing mobile big men.

Having a good freshman year but still needs a lot of development until he can compete with good/great upperclassmen in the paint.

Who didn't get "exposed" last night?

He gets very few minutes each game and it's just amazing. If he would have gotten a lot more minutes in other games, maybe that wouldn't have happened. He plays with a high motor and has height. Just mind boggling.

i disagree on this one

He does some good things, but he gets lost defensively, and his man doesn't really have to guard him out on the floor. Since the only way we can score is to drive the hoop and dish it back, if he is playing 25 or 30 minutes I think the offense doesn't score nearly as well with him in the game. It is really a catch 22, better defense (very marginally) and rebounding versus worse offense, Crean is trying to play him, but I think he can certainly see better than we can what additional minutes for him would mean.

Re: He was exposed last night facing mobile big men.

He's undersized, plain and simple. It's more of a physical limitation than a skill development issue. He's 6'7. Take his heart and effort and put it in HMP's body and then we are talking.

Unfortunately we are recruiting another kid just like him physically for next year.

cannot wait til HMP gets back... he and EH will play so well together....

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.... LOLOLOLOLOLO...........just kidding... we all know that will never happen but I just had to say it..... LOLLOLOL

I guess we will never know

since Crean won't play him for very many meaningful minutes. I think we could work some offense through him.
