Their guards are so much better than ours, plus their bigs atleast try to block out for rbs and go after the ball! Lots of top 10-15 upsets this week! Lets hope IU wakes tf up and plays out of their minds for the next upset over the way overrated turds up north!
Matta should have been at IU in 2006 after Davis had left. Or actually, after 2005 when Davis should have been canned. Shouldnt even have been there in the first place. Interim season for 2000-2001? Okay, fine. Then as a girl would say in the 90s, "Poof, be gone".
He had cancer and was not in a position to be a HC. Just another example of how we are cursed.
Matta’s health/back wouldn’t permit him to coach at that time. He needed more time to heal which he had while on IU’s AD staff. He was my first choice, but it was not to be.
It’s not a fact that IU won’t make the tournament. Stating opinions as facts is the most incredibly annoying trait of our Negative Nancies.

Replace "opinions" with "statistical probabilies". As of now, we are on the outside of the bubble looking in...by a WIDE margin. No signature wins on our resume. And we still have the real meat of the B1G schedule to play. And then, our return to the B1G tourney where we always shine. Sarcasm intended.
I hope this team proves me wrong, but they better turn the ship around pronto. A couple big wins vs PU, IL, Wisky...changes everything. But after the efforts vs Neb and RU, the trends are not good. The close wins at home vs the soft portion of our preconf schedule were pretty telling. This season will be a struggle for the team. We are not particularly good on offense. And not particularly good on defense. Hence, we're not a particularly good team. Those types of teams tend not to make the tourney. Unless they run the table in the conf tourney. And based on our B1G tourney history....well, no more needs to be said there.
We need several wins vs PU, IL, NW, WIsky, MSU. We have serious tourney resume holes that need to be filled in the next 60 days.
Shouldn't be a surprise. He's a proven, excellent college coach and with the portal he turned his roster over quickly.

And here we are again. And as each day passes, expectations for this season slide. It’s hard to believe it’s come to this again, after having read posts here over the summer.

Yeah it sucks. Not sure what it is, but the pieces of this team don't fit together very well. Well, I do know a little about 'what it is'...we can't shoot, can't rebound, can't shoot FTs, and kinda suck on defense. And play a lot of dumb basketball. Ok, so maybe I do know what it is.
I'm in no way a CTC supporter...I thought he was a spaz, a little creepy, doing weird shit on the sidelines all the time. Pants falling down, stupid spray-on tan and drinking some weird dark potion out of a water bottle during the games. Didn't teach defense, just play faster, faster. That said....his accomplishments between 2011-2017 (2 B1G championships, three S16s, one season as the #1 team a good portion. of the year, some big recruiting classes) - he was fired for those overall results (plus some of the weird shit). But now, the bar has been lowered so much, those same results by CMW would be deemed a major success and yet are starting to look unobtainable.
Depressing.
Rest of the season will be fun to watch. I promise, no matter what, gonna be can’t miss stuff. We are halfway through the rollercoaster. And it is the best coaster in the park baby!

Maybe it would have been more accurate for him to say "without a major improvement in play by our team along with several quad 1 wins..."...IU does not make the tourney.
Again, let's re-visit this on March 1. He'll either be proven wrong, or proven clairvoyant.
I knew it! congrats. yep bonus/ commission checks always put a smile on my face.
Not hiring matta was incredibly stupid and I dont want to hear about how he failed a physical. IU just cannot help itself in making horrible hires. He is a proven winner and yes he would have taken the job.
