With social media and phones, I don't know if "bulletin board material" is even a thing anymore. Also, it's doubtful that anyone in the IU football program will see this thread or read what follows. It would be great, though, if somehow this asshat (I'd say "asshole" but I don't know if that's allowed on the Football Board) reporter's article below, where he suggests that our 11-1 season and almost certain inclusion in the CFP is a "charade," could find its way to the team.

I'm so tired of the disrespect from the whiny SEC shills. It would make my Christmas if we could thump an SEC team, on their home turf, in the opening round.

Go Hoosiers!

These guys don't get it. They only look at their wins and pretend their losses don't count. Ole Miss lost to Kentucky. A team that only had one power 4 win. It also has nothing to do with their strength of schedule, that is just a team showing they aren't consistent.

These pundits also don't seem to want to look at strength of RECORD, which shows how well teams do against the competition, regardless of how good their opponent is because it accounts for that. That tells you vastly more than just SOS. IU is handing out losses to all but one opponent, then they try to use that exact stat AGAINST IU......?? Its absolute nonsense. Yes, your opponents had more wins, because THEY BEAT YOU!

who the hell is this idiot?

There exist people who are less well educated about the subject they are reporting.
We sometimes forget articles are about clicks and the ability to sell ads.
The combination of someone who doesn’t fully understand the subject matter but needs clicks makes it easier to understand that sometimes the writing is a little overboard.

This stems in large part from the Unholy Alliance of ESPN and THE SEC. They would be happy with 6 SEC Teams, 5 other Conference Champions, and one at large team (probably another SEC Middler).

I think Tim Brando said it best when He was doing the IU-Purdue game last weekend. His Statement was, "A note to my friends in the Southern part of the Country. At some point, losses matter."

Indiana is going to have to beat someone's ass on their field in front of their crown in the playoffs to shut us this up.

It stinks IU beat itself at O$U. A punter dropping a ball, a punter kicking to the wrong side of the field, the O-line repeatedly missing assignments, the O not being able to deal with the crowd noise, giving up that big run at the end. All looked like IU didn't belong there. Defense was the only bright spot.

And at least two illegal blocks not called on the punt return.

This is Matt Hayes schtick. He’s a Florida grad and hates the Big Ten. Preseason, he ranked Cignetti as the 17th best coach in the conference. Consequently, he ranked Ryan Day as #1 and Lincoln Riley as #2. This is just a guy who is out of touch, never played the game and would likely put on a football helmet backwards if given the opportunity.

Any SEC team leading the nation in rushing defense and scoring 43 points a game would be getting shilled as deserving a home game or a buy. Either IU proves it on the field … or IU doesn’t … either way IU will play 14 games this year.

Great teams don't need BB material. Winners know "with proper preparation, the commitment and discipline, that there's no self-imposed limitations to what we can accomplish. Day in, day out. Play in, play out."

And at least two illegal blocks not called on the punt return.

And...., a key Hold against Fisher that sprang their long run near the end...

Now I think we still would have lost that one by a couple of points over there but the final was misleading as to who we really are...

The good news is that unless sports politics gets in the way our TEAM will get s chance to prove who they Really are next time out...

The other thing that nobody seems to mention is that the SEC teams only play 8 conference games.
BIG plays 9. That means one more conference BUY game. I think Alabama played Mercer their last game.

Think of where this guy would be had We beaten Ohio State. He would be arguing that Ohio State shouldn't be in because They are a 3 loss team (Oregon, Michigan, Us), while all the 3 loss teams in the SEC should be in because all of their losses are "good losses". He would probably argue that We shouldn't be in even if We were Undefeated because We beat a 3 loss OSU Team and Michigan in a down year for Them. But somehow a 2 loss Penn State Team (OSU in regular season and assumed Oregon in Conference Championship Game) should be in despite their loss to the 3 loss OSU team and a weak non-conference Schedule.

That sounds convoluted enough to be his take. You missed your calling!

This from the same USA Today writer, Matt Hayes, who thinks Boise St. should get a first round bye. As if Boise St. had a tougher schedule than IU? This guy makes no sense and is arguing two different points.
