I recently saw an interview with Steve Miller and Scaggs' name came up. After being taught by Les Paul and spending time with T-Bone Walker & Tal Farlow, Miller taught Scaggs enough to guitar that he could join Miller's band at the time. One of the guys from ZZ Topp was also banging around with them at that same in Jr/Sr High.
