Boilermakers gonna have to wait till Sunday to confess their sins after losing the St peters.

2,300 kids. Size of a high school. The budget for the entire athletic department is less than Calipari's salary. Love it
Well, as much as I don’t mind seeing Purdue lose, the conference needs to do something to be more competitive. I think the Big Ten should have one team in the Final Four and two in the Elite Eight every year. Start the BTT on Monday or even earlier and no team plays on consecutive days/nights. I might also limit the BTT to the top eight in the conference.

Coaches of the better teams could ensure their players stay rested. Bobby Knight didn’t give a shit about the big 10 tournament.

To be fair when he was here we didn’t have to.

I think that is less a factor than the style of play that is allowed in the league. How many of our games involved throwing it to a guy and watching him bang, bang, bang against a defender he was backing down to throw up a shot against 2 to 3 guys who are hacking the shhh out of him?

The BIG makes a ton of money. They should hire their own officials, truly monitor the calls, and start enforcing the rules in the direction that play in college has gone. Tackle ball should be much less a factor in these 4 out 1 in types of offenses.

It’s not the BTT, it’s the B1G lacks having great guards and the NCAA tourney is won by the teams with the best guard play. The B1G needs to do a better job attracting the top guards who are going everywhere but. St. Peter’s is small, but they have great guard play.

I don't think last night had anything to do with Purdue being tired, or that sitting guys more during the Big 10 tournament would have made a difference.

It's a dark, cold and gloomy day here. Very fitting.

I was at the 2019 regional final when Purdue lost to Virginia in OT. Last night felt so much worse.
I empathize. Getting beat in a great game to a good team is a lot different than getting beat by a 15 seed. Especially when the bracket looks wide open for a long run. Been there. Done that.

St. Peter's won by hitting 19 0f 21 free throws and having fewer turnovers.

SP guards are quick both on offense and defense. Some teams provide a more difficult match up than others. The Peacocks appeared to be one of those teams which Purdue seemed lethargic against.

I would be interested in seeing a rematch. After looking at film Coach Painter would undoubtedly have attacked the SP defense differently in my view.

A one loss and done tourney can be difficult. Many times the ultimate winner has an off game but somehow survives. A good defense sometimes helps to overcome a bad shooting night. Not sure Purdue has this great a defensive team, and it sure had an off night.

I've said all season that you guys would get beat because the D isn't good enough to fall back on when theres a bad shooting night against a good team. Not a typical Painter defensive team.

Never would have dreamed that good team would be St. Peter's though. They ceased being a fluke when they handled Murray st the way they did.

Painter likes lumbering bigs. Saint peters exploited their weakness.

As long as BIG allows the play to be WWE under the basket, quality guards will not want to come here.

Well the BIG has two of the four spots in the frozen four; Michigan and Minnesota.

Attended the Denver-Duluth regional final yesterday. Denver and and Minnesota State the other 2. Denver looking for 9th national championship.

That's on my list to attend at some point. What kind of crowds were at the regional finals?

Packed house. Even quite a few Duluth fans. The place holds 7,200. I think hockey at any level does the best job of keeping the crowd cranked up with music and lights. No cheerleaders.

Hate watching hockey on TV, to the point where I just don't. But I love going to the rink to watch a game, for all the reasons you mention. Such a great atmosphere.
