Boebert: I'm tired of this separation between church and state

i think we need more pics for that.

we have rules for a reason.
As long as they aren't videos and we don't hear the stupidity coming out of her mouth.

How far down the list of cities/strip clubs would you have to go down to see a Lauren Bobert?
Chicago? Na...
Indy... Nah....
Bloomington.... Nah
Martinsville, Bedford, Seymour? Maybe. But more likely East St. Louis...

Someone needs to take away your keyboard. She’s a fu$&ing moron. The fact you are suggesting otherwise is, well, moronic. And who the f cares what you posted years ago?!? It’s as if you think your posts are somehow of significance or noteworthy. Are we supposed to search back several years to read some mind numbing screed?

C'mon, Noodle. She's a Republican. He's compelled to defend her. He can't do otherwise. It's a sickness. Have a little compassion.

Yabbut....did you ever mingle along Pendleton Pike in the 90's.

didn't think so.
Right after college I met my old club team from Stl in Roswell GA to play in a tournament. 18 22 year olds from Stl. We played our Sat games then showered up and got ready for Cheetah's in Atlanta. We were so damn excited. Because we all listened to Howard Stern and he talked it up so much. We paid our cover charge and took off inside in every direction. In 15 minutes all 18 of us were in the parking lot looking at each other going WTF? We had all been kicked out for doing what we always did on the East Side. I'd put the East Side up against anywhere in the country

Back in the day, there was nothing even remotely close to the Windsor Ballet. The dancers drove Lambos.

Once we turned 19 we crossed the Ambassador. One of the only things i remember was the DJ put on Petty's American Girl, the dancer came out to that, and the crowd went crazy.......to this day, everytime i hear that intro i smile a bit

Never went but had a guy tell me they gave you a small towel when you went in. I have no idea if that's true.

Since we have crossed into a bit of a thread derailment.....

The most amazing performance I have ever seen at a strip club (and yes, this was many many moons ago, mid 90's if I had to guess), was in Cleveland of all places. Don't even remember the name of the club.

A very attractive girl, mid 20's, well proportioned and nothing fake, comes out already completely nude and starts dancing to a song from the movie The Lost Boys soundtrack (Cry little Children, I believe is the name of it).

She also has a fire batons and oil. She picks up one lit baton and one non-lit one. As she dances, she traces meandering lines up her body with the non-lit baton. As she moves on to her next undulation, she would brush the lit baton against her skin, so a thin line of fire would climb up her leg where the baton had touched. Each brush only caught alight for a second or two, so she was never burned. Just little lines of fire curling around her body as she kept dancing in rhythm to the music.

It is quite honestly the most beautiful, erotic thing I have ever seen.

She obviously didn't accept any money during her performance, but people were just flinging money on the stage when she was done.

"The church is supposed to direct the government."

“the government is not supposed to direct the church,” saying that dividing religion from the system of government was not what the Founding Fathers intended.

“I’m tired of this separation of church and state junk — that’s not in the Constitution. It was in a stinking letter and it means nothing like they say it does,” Boebert said, earning a round of applause from the audience.

Lordy.... she may be more DANC-dumb than even DANC.

This is unfortunately not exactly an outlier among the current GOP- at least the Trump wing. I hear some on the more center-center-left spectrum of the board opine that DeSantis is not as bad as Trump. Maybe not from a personality standpoint, but with regards to issues like Boebert is proposing here, he may even be worse...

Check out this latest assault on a bedrock principle that many of us hold dear, which he is pushing in FL schools. The (unintentional) irony is that he accuses "the other side" of indoctrinating school kids...

"During a press conference on Thursday, DeSantis said the new civic education was pushing back on the "woke indoctrination" of children and said kids in the state were learning "real history." (he forgot the DWS)...

Amazed he could say this part without a lightning bolt smacking him...

"We're unabashedly promoting civics and history that is accurate and that is not trying to push an ideological agenda," he said."
Hmm, is it possible that he truly doesn't understand what terms like "ideological" and "accurate" mean? Didn't he go to Harvard?

"According to the Post, the training included the phrase that it is a "misconception" that "the Founders desired strict separation of church and state." Yep, no indoctrination going on here...

Hey Ron, how long before you're demanding that teachers in FL go with the new term for slavery that is being pushed in Texas? "Involuntary relocation"...

And just in case anyone thinks these extreme views aren't permeating thru the mainstream of this current GOP...

Charlie Kirk aspires to be the "new Rush L", and he spoke at the 2020 RNC. He was recently on Fox with Hegseth promoting his academy to "train young minds"...

This shows Kirk and another MAGA media hero (Cernovich) matter of factly discussing Demons...This is who these folks are...

People say this all the time, but I'm not sure it would change anything. Let's say the Squad was kicked out of the Dem Party and formed a Progressive Party that got a dozen or so people elected to Congress. Would you suddenly be happy with the Dems, or would you still be terrified of the hold the Progressive Party now holds over the Dems due to the fact that the Dems have to keep them happy as a coalition partner in order to keep the leadership?

Extreme politicians are outliers in Washington, but they still have constituencies and bases. AOC has a base. Boebert has a base. Whether those bases exert their influence from the edge of the major parties, or from just outside of them, does not have much import, I think.
Wasn’t the growing support of Socialists, during the depression and ‘20s one of the motivations for new deal era programs and social security? Influence from Inside or Outside the “Big Tent” is still influence.

Separation of church and state is for the benefit of churches not the state. This is political stupidity taken from the Democrats’ playbook. Any political power churches hold is social and shouldn’t be touched by politicians. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.

Several posts talk about "The Church" as if America had just one church.

America actually has many religions along with many Americans being secularists. Many of these secularists don't affiliate with any religion. Studies have shown that political conservatives and liberals within Christianity emphasize different aspects of the teachings of Jesus and the disciples. So religion is an influence, but it can result in different outcomes in terms of laws passed.

Also saw a study which revealed our politicians from both parties are more religious than most of the Americans who elected them. This could be translated into the church and state being less separated for those governing us than is the general public who elected them.

On the subject of separation of church and state and the influence of religion, the 10 Commandments are of prime importance in my view. i have often said that if God hadn't given us the 10 Commandments that mankind would have adopted a similar list of morals. Americans attending church may be declining, but the 10 Commandments still guide us.
