Headline is a lie.

BLM was scammed by these con artists. They're no better than preachers or ex-Presidents.

Sounds like, as a supporter and advocate, she stole money from the local chapter that managed money. Seems to be a recurring theme for BLM though:

regardless the entity, anytime money becomes involved, crooks come out of the woodwork.

and those who never were crooks before, can't resist temptation.

seems like some different local county official gets busted weekly.

Yeah. It'll be interesting what comes of this 60 mil. I said early on they needed to partner with an established org. Urban League etc. Not accounting for 60 mil is a red flag. The insane position they've adopted on Smollet and abolishing police departments disqualifies them from support by anyone with an IQ north of 70.

They needed organizational help. This won't be grift. It'll be 7 figure defalcation. Mark my words

The BLM movement needs no help. It’s a movement.

The BLM organization should be disfuncticated.

The problem, like always, is money. They raised so much so fast they desperately needed to poach organizational leaders from other 501C3s or partnered with the Urban League etc. In failing to do so no one smart controls their messaging or apparently financial affairs. Now they are just a shady, radical outfit. Organization is vital

You raise an interesting point, and their Catch 22. The head of the urban league here is a way far left batshit crazy lunatic. If you asked him why that guy killed 30 people he'd tell you 400 years of oppression. And he sounds just like Muhammad Ali. He'd make the far left loons here seem objective. But he's smart in a business sense. He and I have been buddies since we were kids. And he flat out said what you said. Blm didn't want to be part of the "establishment." They wanted to be a movement. NAACP, Urban League etc are establishment. The problem with not being establishment is you never get the organizational infrastructure in place to establish long term trust in donors. My buddy is a radical nut but he is smart. He knows he has to tone it down publicly to draw in donors and stay legit and make a difference and not be a radical organization who can't account for money and sends out messaging that will ultimately alienate them.

BLM will die an ugly death. Guarantee it.

The article featured in this link was written by a student newspaper founded by Peter Thiel.

It is always interesting to find out about what we refer to as the media.along with keeping tabs on the loosely organized BLM movement. Not saying the article is false, just suggesting political bias.

The BLM movement spans the globe and isn’t dying anytime soon. Most sympathizers aren’t hardcore and probably don’t follow it enough to even know about the org and its shady characters. I’m only exposed to it here.

Any sympathy is rooted in equal rights and justice for all which hopefully isn’t dying anytime soon.

Another view on this has to do with what I mean by a movement. In modern times everybody tries to monetize and politicize anything. That’s what you’re talking about when it goes from a movement to an organization seeking funding. That’s also what social justice warriors do in politicizing cultural and social issues.

My observation of life is that movements are organic and cause changes in society organically. This is the astronomical blunder that Democrats continually make from abortion, through LGBTQ, to defunding the police. By and large people are tolerant and willing to change their viewpoints away from authority-driven morals (e.g., the Bible) to common sense morals. The solution is to appeal to their common sense. Instead Democrats alienate tolerant people by foisting their substitute “authority” on them.

Democrats have now managed to take this astronomical blunder to the absurd extreme with first political correctness, then litmus testing and now cancel culture.

My guess is it's dying sooner than you think. It's been suspended by the Amazon's charity platform, most publicity around the world with teams has dropped it and just used End Racism or Equality or some derivation thereof, and now you've got 60 million Calif wants an accounting for that hasn't been delivered, on and on. Only 44% of those polled supported it months ago. I would imagine today with the demise of the Defund police, the 60 mil issue, their position on Smollet etc., by the end of this year it'll be toast.

I would go so far as to say the entire social justice movement from the left is on life support. The bail projects get bad press. Crime has been awful. Biden's screaming fund the police, fund the police. Common sense has emerged. Hopefully there are other ways to address the needs of communities in distress without attacking cops and the court system. Maybe more programs that get to the root of issues

That kind of proves my point. Just as the movement doesn’t need funding it also doesn’t need the name, BLM.

I don’t think the poll properly tests the movement itself. It’s also understandable that the poll would reflect differently with whites and blacks because from a typical white person’s perspective it should be all lives matter, or more simply, equality for all. A good poll would be testing exactly for that, though that might be rather difficult.

My impression is that the movement we’re talking about was the first seismic shift since Martin Luther King’s time. That’s the organic aspect I’m talking about. And obviously there’s been a lot of organic change in between for better or worse.

The BLM representative interviewed in your link misses this point I think. The best way to maintain the movement is to focus on the root problem which is, equality for all.

Agreed. Things get tricky when money is involved, and in this case it's heavy bucks
