They can't really do too many more league games, there just isn't time. Same with the tournament, if you add more teams you have to add more days. Players can't miss a whole week of class for a tournament.

They will probably split the conference into two tournaments. The likely NCAAT teams will play the top tournament, the others will play the bottom tournament, for whatever that's worth. A trophy for being the best of the worst.

So 3 worst teams won't even be invited to the conference tourney?

Great, now they are gonna not even let us play.

Huh?

From Wiki (so believe it or not) ...

BTT Champs (# of Championships in parentheses):
Michigan State (6)
Ohio State (4) (would've been 5, but 2002 Championship vacated)
Illinois (3)
Michigan (2) (would've been 3, but 1998 Championship vacated)
Wisconsin (3)
Iowa (3)
Purdue (2)

So, 7 schools have won and 7 have not. Indiana, Minnesota, and Penn State have played in the Championship Final, the other 4 (Maryland, Nebraska, Northwestern, and Rutgers) have not been to the Final.

So, out of TWENTY-FIVE Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournaments, the Blue Blood Indiana Hoosiers have only made it to the final game ONCE, losing to Iowa 63-61 in 2001.

They could easily add a 16th team and use the same four game format they already use on Thursday and Friday. Playing only three games on Wednesday makes no sense.

I do think the “relegation” games at the bottom for the last seed will spark some interest.

We're pretty close to education not being part of it. These are just names on uniforms of minor league teams

Let’s hope we at least make the big ten tournament.
