The defense deserves a lot of credit they won't get due to our record.

I know they are near the bottom on the B10 but I'd guess they are near the top on time on the field. Just like Coleman deserves credit for getting 2k yds with no passing offense, the D deserves credit for keeping us in games when our offense was anemic.

As young as the defense is, I feel like the coaching change is a huge part of it. They improved over the year. I'm hoping for a special teams coaching change for next year. Our special teams constantly bled turnovers or bad penalties.

Next year will be better

with a year under their belt under Knorrs system. We have some real talent . Hate to lose Richardson, Hunter, and Bennett - but we have capable replacements. Need some CB depth.

I don't know how much we improved in national rankings but

how much did we improve from the beginning of the season to the last? Quite a bit I think. What would Ohio State done to us at the beginning of the season as opposed to the end?

I feel good about the defense. Was not great but much improved.

Re: I don't know how much we improved in national rankings but

In the sole team defensive stat provided by espn.com, via the team "clubhouse" page for Indiana, we are 102nd in points against (32.8 ppg). Agree with the trajectory and agree with some recognition and celebration, but we still have a lot of "bars" remaining to achieve.
