I absolutely concede that point. The stupid National Enquirer has gotten stories right before. I will read an article from just about anywhere if someone puts it up and I am interested in the conversation. I think there are some journalists and opinionists on the left who, though I may disagree with them on quite a few points, I at least respect their argument enough to enter with an open mind.
I will also honestly state that some sites are going to be off putting for me, I tend to read stories from them "on guard" because there biases are clear up front and I tend to disagree with their worldview overall, but generally I try not to go and look up what the other person wrote and try to stick to the current argument.
Sorry, I am probably not perfect on this account either, but the "Yeah look who wrote it" posts kind of drive me nuts. And honestly, that guy is a socialist writing a book about fascism, I guarantee that if you read that book that you would probably find some stuff in it where you thought "man, that is a little uncomfortable because of how on the nose it is..." Not because Hitler, but because of the Mussolini quote I posted. You may not agree with the entire premise (I mean he is a socialist so I doubt I would without having read the book) but based on the title he is making an argument I have seen made from both the right and left in other places.
