Best IU teams not to make the Final 4

All these were very talented, but the 74-75 team (depth) and the 59-60 team (Bellamy) were probably 2 of the best IU teams I ever watched. I watched the 74-75 team more times than not live and believe it is the best IU b-ball team I ever saw play. The 92-93 team was a force when healthy. The 64-65 team (Van Arsdale twins, McGlockin and Redenbaugh) was another one worth a watch.

Go Hoosiers!

I am glad you commended Walt Bellamy.

Several years ago, a guy in my office who says he attended IU, hung (replicas) of IU's NCAA title banners in his home hallway (until his new fiance made him remove them).

Anyway, he claims to be a loyal IU fan.

He is in his 50's. Once in a silly bar conversation he named his all-time NFL team. He had Sammy Baugh as quarterback. So...he DOES respect history.

I asked him who he thinks were the best IU players in history.

He fumbled around with Isaiah...Scott May...Calbert...

I asked him, "What about Walt Bellamy?

Blank stare.

(It also bothers me when millenials claim that Wilt Chamberlain amassed those NBA stats against 6-5 white guys.)

You were kind not to bring up Don Schlundt or Archie Dees.

The Steve Downing teams (1971-73) were good.

He had 47 points and 25 rebounds (on one leg) to upset #7 Kentucky in Louisville.

Did that guy marry the woman? I can't believe a woman would do that to a guy. Don't they understand?

He makes quite a lot of money, but has always been unlucky in love (perhaps because he is a little freaky).

So she grabbed him (when few else would).

While they were dating, she was shocked when she discovered he paid hundreds of dollars for (routine) MJordan framed posters. He responded, "But it's my passion!"

Yes, he married her, but she wouldn't move in with him till she sold her condo.
