Beer Thread

Lagunitas%2B12th%2Bof%2BNever%2BAle.jpg

Here's a new one, it seems, from Lagunitas. Only sold in 12 pack cans, their first canned offering....it's a very tasty APA/IPA. Heavily hopped up....they don't say what they use, but I recognize a lot of Citra.

About 5.5% and 50 IBU....perfectly balanced, very drinkable for having more than one.

I keep these in my patio refrigerator ...excellent beverage.

Did everyone stop drinking since we got a real basketball coach? Anyway, if you like hop heavy beer, try and pick up Lagunitas Waldos' Special Ale. It's a seasonal release, and packs a punch at 11.9% but it's damn good. The hop aroma is so strong, I think I'm drinking sinsemilla.

I'm currently enjoying Day Glow IPA by Elysian, and it's ok. Didn't really care for their Space Dust IPA, and this more of the same, but it is drinkable.

Agreed on the Waldo's, really good. Picked up both the Scotch & Brandy BA Abyss at Sergio's World Beers last weekend, might have one tonight. The regular Abyss was phenomenal. Sergio's is legit, had Saint Bon-Chien on tap last weekend, was the best sour I've ever had. Also St Bernardus 12 among others. The St Bernardus is right there with Westy 12 imo. Monkey Dong was awesome too. Been a good beer week.

Does SuperHoosier still frequent these parts?

I was at Sergios a few weeks ago. I loved fhe drafts he streered me towards. I was skeptical to taste some of the overpriced bottles that made me wonder their shelf-life when there were beers in walk-ins as far as the eye can see!
What a cool place though!

Bump... and a joke.

An Englishman, a Scotsman, and an Irishman walk into a pub. They proceed to each buy a pint of Guinness. Just as they were about to enjoy their creamy beverage a fly landed in each of their pints and became stuck in the thick head.

The Englishman pushed his beer away from him in disgust.

The Irishman fished the offending fly out of his beer and continued drinking it as if nothing had happened.

The Scotsman too, picked the fly out of his drink, held it out over the beer and then started yelling: "SPIT IT OUT, SPIT IT OUT YOU BASTARD!!!"

I can't imagine wanting my beer to taste like cocoa and hot peppers. I'm not into fruity stuff either.

I'm more into beer-flavored beer, to be honest. Fancy misplaced flavors like sweet, fruity, spicy etc. are brewers trying too damn hard. Pumpkin spice, anyone? Yuck...

Just a very good beer.
Buy it.
First had this on-tap at a bar in downtown Cleveland a few years back. Was with a buddy, who is a small-time brewer, and we both had the same reaction - ‘damn, this is good!’ We proceeded to tour their brewery, which was right down the street. Great memory with a great beer. I buy it whenever I can.

Pseudo-Sue Toppling Goliath

Cant find the beer thread...

This is a great one though...for $11 a 4 pack buy it every time...

The big one is the King Sue...hard to get...not quite the original zombie dust craze, but sells so fast....

Buy when you see it!

Not as good as Pseudo Sue, or even 2Hearted, - but for my newfound IPA taste...not bad

Any common easy to find recommendations on the citrus IPAs over the grassy IPA’s are welcome...

Had a good strange Earache IPA at 9.2% from Seymour Brew Co. A buddy brought it down. I didnt know there was a Seymour Brew Co

I assume you are a Budwesier guy? Nah ... probably a Coors Light guy?

I love a good IPA, but I'm also not a hardo realize light beers have their place as well, and that AB InBev isn't the root of all evil.

I assume you're the guy that shows up at the lake house with their IPA from "Who gives a ****" and sneers at everyone enjoying their cold light beers on a hot summer day.

GLBC does not get the respect it deserves.

Tell me I could only drink beers from three breweries the rest of my life, I'd take Founders, Bells and GLBC, and be very, very happy.

I just had about 4 oz from the 25 oz $20 bottle - but wow was it tasty!

Shoreline doesn't make, at least for me, a great ale. A little bit too much malt-forward action going on.

But, their barrel-aged stuff is really good. Sam let's the beers get a good long soak in.
