Ball going out is a killer.

Thx. I’m not here to bash a 19 yr old kid, probably a great kid as most kids.
Year in and out IU rarely has the talent to overcome their mistakes to be able to beat a good team. Sure, you have to hold the defensive tackle to keep the qb from getting hurt but most other penalties just hurt the team.

Over 40+ years there have been many potentially winnable games thrown away with a cheap shot or another major flag. Bob Knight once said that he didn’t expect his teams to win all games but that he did expect them to at least be in a position to be able to win a game.
Was last evening’s game winnable? Maybe. Football is nothing more than good blocking, good tackling and deception, offense and defense.

Lets hope it all works out. Thx for listening.

Ball gets targeting on a play where he completely whiffed on the sliding Lewerke. Meanwhile, an MSU player hits a sliding Ramsey with the crown of his helmet in the side of the head and no call? Horrible.
Let's clear your assertions up a bit. First off, Ramsey was not "sliding". "Lunging forward" is the more appropriate term to use. Sliding involves feet first, which Ramsey didn't do. Therefore, the legal hit by MSU was deemed so by Ramsey not "sliding" and actively trying to gain extra yardage. He is a "runner" at that point and received a hit with a shoulder-first tackle. There wasn't and never should have been a flag on the play. Ball's penalty was unfortunate, I think it may have been a bit of a weak call, but according to how the game is under scrutiny for safety concerns, plus a booth review to confirm, it is hard to argue otherwise.
