I can see a possibility of the B1G regular season ending with 5 teams -- IU, Ohio St, Minny, Rutgers and Illinois -- all with an 8-12 record. Look at the W-L records currently and the games left for each team:

Ohio State 8-10 @NW, WIS
Minnesota 8-10 PUR, @MD
Rutgers 7-11 PSU, @IU
Illinois 7-11 IU, @PSU
IU 6-12 @ILL, RUTG

Minnesota has no real good wins but has a better record.

If Illinois doesn’t get by us, I don’t see them winning at PSU. If there are multiple teams bunched up at 8-12, I’d say our quality wins would help separate us from the pack, hopefully

Hopefully the Hoosiers can get to the 8 win mark. Whether that moves us to 10 or 9, i have no idea. Just hoping IU can win 2-3 more in Chicago.

20 years ago in '99, there was a 5-way tie at 9-7 for 3rd (IU, Iowa, Wisky, Minny, PU). IU won the tiebreaker, got 3rd seed. Minny got the 6th and was beaten by Lon Kruger's last place/11 seeded Illini on Thursday night. IU started Friday night game vs Illini up 10-2, then got blown away by 16. Illini made championship game as the last seed.

This was a pretty good IU team of Haston, Lewis, Guyton, Recker, Lynn Washington, Rob Turner and Luke Jimenez. Can't recall who else.
